I absolutely hate 'in your face' owners. We had it with Donald/Methven. Just stay out of the spotlight and let people do their jobs.
Imagine that gets curtailed as soon as someone gives them a bit of their own medicine. Think Ipswich have built a great squad on paper but they’ve messed up with their team somewhat. They’re also a bit high on their own supply after a prem season. Soon as someone puts a few of them on their arse while also having the ability to keep up with them, they’ll realise it’s tougher than they thought.
Their hilarious bitterness over the fact that we made Jobe into the player he is, culminating in their performative chasing of Riggy, says a lot about them. Probably not a surprise from venture capitalists. Wait till they realise that relegation is a thing
Agree re Ipswich. It’s for that reason I won’t be getting as carried away as some over this Birmingham performance and, if it remains, result. It’s why I think Birmingham may stand a chance though, it’s a strong Championship in terms of spread decent sides but, on paper, it’s lacking any real, proper standouts. Gives them a chance of just about hanging in there.
More balance, more cohesion, more focus. Now they’ve got more talent but can’t get it onto the pitch at the same time. A bit of a cautionary tale for us in our squad build this season.
Gotta say I don’t think I’ve ever seen Al Hammadi do anything to convince me he’s anything other than a league one player
