You remember I posted somewhere on here about the "4 groups of 6" finishing positions in the 24 team Championship based on bookies odds? Before a ball was kicked we were down to finish in the 3rd group around the 16th position. Based on those odds, one game in we've moved up into the 2nd group of 6 with a finishing position between 9th and 12th. That one game has seen City's promotion odds drop from the 12/1 I got a week ago down to 10/1. Despite that positve (albeit early) movement, City are still being offered @ 4/1 for a top 6 finish - that's not changed. If we can get a result at Reading, I've no doubt that price will shorten. Time for a cheeky top 6 finish punt @ 4/1?
I think Saturday will give us a better idea of where we are, albeit early days. A game we're likely to be favourites for. Teams we need to put away if we want to aspire to the top 6.
