If we can beat Stoke, our concerns could be virtually all over on Saturday. That would get us to 48 points which Blackpool and Wigan can't get even if they win all their remaining games so they can't catch us even mathematically. On the same day QPR and Reading are away at Burnley and Coventry respectively. If either of them get beaten they'd need to win both of their last two games to overtake us even if we failed to get any points at all from the 3 games we'd still have to play. Don't really care who goes down with Blackpool and Wigan as long as it's not us, but if I had to chose, maybe a dramatic slump by Rotherham over these last few games will be payback for Raingate.
And don’t forget Huddersfield. They don’t have a game until a week on Sunday when we will stuff them. That leaves them with two remaining fixtures against Sheffield United and a final day possible relegation decider against Reading.
and to top it all nin, the keeper scored from the corner last kick of the game. we never leave a game early anymore. It was a spur of the moment decision to go, as I was dragged out of a funeral wake and still dressed in me posh togs, but I m so fugging glad they did!!
2 huge games coming up. Some of the results from the bottom 6 this week has really thrown the cat amongst the pigeons. We did our bit to help you today by beating Rotherham.
I only hope Burnley are as charitable to us as they’ve been recently to our relegation rivals. It’s still in our hands but we can’t play as negatively and clumsy like that again. Look at their last 3 results - they owe it to other clubs to give a toss..
I see Colin has complained to the EFL about Burnley fielding a ‘weakened’ team against Reading. Nothing will come of it of course but it shows he’s getting edgy.
Burnley have certainly dropped a lot of unexpected points against your fellow relegation strugglers in recent weeks. Gives you a chance if you have to go there on the final day of the season needing a win.
Don't want to have to rely on that. "fellow relegation strugglers".............I bet you loved writing that.....
