Just looked at that myself Bluey. I noticed next Saturday when we go to Preston, Wigan are away at Burnley and Udders are at West Brom - that could be a very big weekend.
Looks like that report came from mailonline around lunchtime............ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...x-points-Championship-breaching-EFL-plan.html
I notice Reading's game in hand on us is also on Tuesday - they're hosting Sheffield Utd. 3 really important games on Tuesday night over which we have no control.
Probably the first time ever I've wanted to win against the Wurzels soley for the 3 points rather than the other benefits.
Ah well, stupid is as stupid does. Did they really think they could get away with it? Or is Dianne Abbott their financial director?
Your boys certainly gave it a good go. Until their rather fortunate 2nd goal went in I actually thought you were starting to worry them a little. No offence meant but it's a shame you didn't pick up a few injuries and suspensions from the game Just hope the physical and mental exertion has taken its toll on your team. We have several injuries to key players to contend with, not least that of our top scorer so getting anything from the game will be a plus.
Cheers Brizzle I agree - we gave everything we had but their quality was simply superior to our efforts. If Pep had fielded a youth side we might have caused an upset but it was more or less his first team out there and our boys were second best. No complaints about the result. Anyway, to this Saturday - I really can’t call it. On paper, given current form and league position we should win, but fatigue from Tuesday could be a factor - plus it’s a local Derby - and you guys will be fighting hard for the 3 points as Sparkey said. We will have to be at our best to get anything from the game. It all boils down to the mentality - if your boys are focussed and ruthless then you will turn us over - and if our heads are still at the Man C game with mid-table safety we might not be on form. It’s the job of the manager to fire them up. I’ll play safe and predict a 1-1 draw Watching the game from the sunny Costa Del Sol There was an impressive St David’s Day celebration over here yesterday… I can’t post the pic for some reason - I’ll try later….
Hi R&W, every team can always do with a "bit of luck", but apart from a few bad reffing decisions, we've pissed on our own chips this season. I doubt anyone in the bottom half is safe yet, but points already on the board is always a big plus going into the last dozen games. Getting it right at CCFC has been left very late this season - just hope it's not too late. As far as your game against us on the weekend, if you play the way you did against Citeh then we'll have an uphill task. Having said that, I seem to recall you had a very good game against them in one Cup or another (can't remember which) a few years back under Lee Johnson for which he and you received praise. I also seem to remember that it all went pear-shaped for you in the league after that...........
I also thought your guys were doing well until the second goal. Bags of energy, skill and attacking threat. You appeared to have some very good young players who brought the energy and invention. I only hope they haven't recharged and reset for Saturday. If they have we could be in trouble especially as our main scorer Robinson is out injured for a while. If I was Lamouchi I would pick the most physical team we have and get stuck into your young guns as soon as possible. Something Man City didn't do. A draw is the most likely outcome which may be okay with you but not what we need.
Yes that was in the League Cup. We beat Man U at our place then took Man C to a replay but lost the second leg. Our season fizzled out after that. We are extremely mindful of that !!!!!
Read that (unsurprisingly) Adams is now ruled out for the season. Losing Collins so early was also crushing as clearly he is a more than decent player, but we’ll not know for some time - if at all - what Adams is like.
