I think we’ll need the 3 points Saturday as can’t see us getting much or more likely anything at either QPR or down west.
I've always enjoyed a good ride. The things you mention are certainly signs of progress but the acid test is translating that into a winning first team squad and consequently table position.
For me personally, progress and ambition will be met by me actually going to games and enjoying it enough to want to go again. Maybe that's a little underwhelming but I've sat through far too many games and seasons with little enjoyment. Whether that's been playing styles, results, kit changes, lack of atmosphere and excitement or combinations of all of them, actually being able to sit there, see what's being attempted, having a "bond" with the team again whilst actually enjoying watching is all I really need. Whether we win, lose or draw, so long as we've tried to play, put the effort in and created some excitement then I'm happy. I really didn't enjoy our first foray into the Premier League and even our promotion to get there felt a little "hollow". The promotion under Warnock was more enjoyable, mainly I think because it was so unexpected. Echo Cling and Remote's words... Progress for the club doesn't have to mean promotion.
Didn't say it did for one minute Brizzo. Does that mean every time someone posts about it and maybe climbing the table to achieve it, we should all dive for cover and shut up about that ambition? I regard past results, upcoming games, possible table projections and even guesswork as viable discussion material. If anyone wants to ignore that or even de-merit such comments then fair enough. I'll just keep posting what interests and excites me and enjoy the season. No doubt I'll get frustrated, even upset by the club on times, but as remote said - I'll just enjoy the ride.
We must win our home games starting against Coventry on Saturday, otherwise our efforts on the road will count for very little. Two of those "defining" away games coming up after Coventry - at QPR and Swansea. I would say just denying those two clubs taking all 3 points on their own turf would be a great step in the right direction.
The championship is so unpredictable that we may lose at home v the current bottom club Coventry and then win at the current co-leaders QPR
Where are all the points deductions going this season? That usually sorts things out a little at the bottom.
I know most on here dont like egg, but recently failing rugby clubs seem to get treated differently from football clubs. Overspend, receivership, cancel the rest of the season, automatic relegation. A bigger stick.
