In reality, there's a handful of trophies available to measure your European success in the Football world and Arsenal failed to deliver on that front once again...as usual

It just came out yesterday that Arsenal benefited the most from VAR 'errors'. Everyone could tell how this season was scripted regardless of this fact coming to light yesterday tbh
The whole world was glued onto the Prem league this year not because of Arsenal...boring boring Arsenal likened to Tony Pulis's Stoke just a bit more expensive but because they wanted to see the Mighty Tottenham get relegated.
Maybe one day the powers that be might decide that it's "Spurs's" season...then we might land the Prem title too...it's no biggy...can't wait me.
European trophies, where refs are neutral, however , continue to allude you ... regardless of the level because your club is incapable of winning at any of them.
That's a lot of words just to cry about your rivals winning a trophy...

No I don't really agree, I've often made the point on here that fans make the 'what have you won' trophy argument too often and ignore the simple metric of the league table and matches won and lost.
The idea that finishing say 17th and winning the Europa being somehow superior to finishing 2nd in the EPL - to me is simply nonsense.
People always used to say, the league table doesn't lie.
Arsenal have won European Cups - the formats of which have just changed. To argue WHU have a European Cup but Arsenal don't based on the fact the format and name of the Cup has changed, is ridiculous. It would be like me saying Tottenham have never won the League - because they didn't win the Prem.
Also you know thats not true, Tottenhams relegation battle made minimal media/social media impact compared to Arsenals Title run.

Cos we won the Cup Winner's Cup and the Fairs Cup, with my limited math thats 2 right there. You get no argument from me that our European record is an absolute joke, but lets not rewrite history.
As we now look to next year, one of the things we simply must improve is our ability to win games against the bigger teams
Our record this year is not good.
Lost 2 finals.
Failed to beat City or Liverpool in 5 matches.
Lost to Utd home
We did great beating the mid level clubs like Everton, Leverkusen, Athletico etc and we did great beating the real minnows like Spurs, but we have to do better against the top clubs in the latter stages/finals of the cup comps.

Some of it's confidence which im hoping we will get from winning the league.
In the group phase we comfortably beat Bayern, Inter and Athletico - but we need to be more ruthless and streetwise in the high pressure games. We're nearly there though.
Inter and Athletic are two mid tier clubs in reality.
Bayern was our best result of the season - but I wonder whether we'd have beaten them in the final... I have my doubts.
