finally got a win in this with KINGSGATE NATIVE on Saturday. the points scoring does seem a bit strange though. Kevin Ryan has got 775 points this season whilst Aidan O'Brien only has 44?? Adam Kirby meanwhile is over 100 points ahead in the jockeys standings just because he was on a horse that came 2nd in the Lockinge
From the site: SCORING POINTS Whatâs SP? Scoring points for jockeys, trainers and horses will be based on SP. This is short for Starting Price which are the betting odds of a horse at the time the race starts - for example 10/1, 4/1 etc. Generally, the horses with the best chance will have a smaller SP e.g. 2/1 and the horses with less of a chance, much bigger odds e.g. 25/1. But if your 25/1 selection wins or is placed (usually 2nd or 3rd), you will score big points in the game! To give you an idea what each horse will score in the race, roll over any horse on the race cards and youâll see the indicative points that horse will score for win and place in the game. Your Stable - Jockeys and Trainers Your stable of five jockeys and five trainers will score points as follows. All points are doubled for the final five Series races on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday, October 19: Jockeys and Trainers from Pool A 5 points each for a runner or ride 3 x SP each for a winner 1 x SP each for a place For example, if a placed horse (usually second or third) is ridden by your jockey and the starting price is 10/1, you will score 1 x 10 = 10 points plus 5 points for the ride = 15 points. If the winning horse is trained by your trainer and the starting price is 5/1, you will score 3 x 5 = 15 points plus 5 points for the runner = 20 points. Jockeys and Trainers from Pool B 10 points each for a runner or ride 6 x SP each for a winner 2 x SP each for a place Jockeys and Trainers from Pool C 15 points each for a runner or ride 9 x SP each for a winner 3 x SP each for a place Jockeys and Trainers from Pool D 20 points each for a runner or ride 12 x SP each for a winner 4 x SP each for a place Jockeys and Trainers from Pool E 25 points each for a runner or ride 15 x SP each for a winner 5 x SP each for a place Your Horses Your selected horses in each race will score points as follows. Please note, all points are doubled for the final five Series races on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday, October 19: Race Win: 5 times the industry starting price + 50 points For example, if your horse wins and the starting price is 10/1, you will score 5 times the starting price i.e. 5 x 10 = 50 points, plus 50 points for first place = 100 points scored. Second Place*: 2 times the starting price + 20 points For example, if your horse is placed and the starting price is 5/2, you will score 2 times the starting price i.e. 2 x 2.5 (5/2 = 5 divided by 2) = 5 points, plus 20 points for second place = 25 points scored. Third Place*: 2 times the starting price + 10 points For example, if your horse is placed and the starting price is 5/2, you will score 2 times the starting price i.e. 2 x 2.5 (5/2 = 5 divided by 2) = 5 points, plus 10 points for third place = 15 points scored. *Place applies as follows: In races with 4 or fewer runners, no place applies in races with 5 to 7 runners place applies to the horse coming 2nd only. In races with 8 or more horses, place applies to the horses coming 2nd and 3rd Dead Heat: In the event of a dead heat for any win or place position, for the purposes of the game, all dead heated horses will score full win and place points. Non Runner:In the event that a non-runner is selected, your selection will automatically go to the favourite. If you select two non-runners your second selection will go to the second favourite. If there are joint favourites/joint second-favourites, you will be allocated to the one with the lowest racecard number (e.g. if horse number 5 and number 9 are joint-favourites and you select a non-runner, your selection will be horse number 5). Right up to the start of any race, you can change your selections yourself on the game website or on your mobile device on our new mobile race card site. Clear as mud, yes?!
