Nothing will top the grey shirts blending in with the crowds excuse from the 90's though, that one was a world beater
You cannot rely on Arsenal or Chelsea to do anything right. Just when you think they are CL toast they put in a season like performance. I must say that Giroud actually looked a quality striker last night. So that was a waste of a tenner then Man Utd only will join Liverpool and Tottenham in the Thursday night league. LVG IN IN IN
How many of these players play for Real Madrid or Barcelona? It's unlikely that many of them play for other Spanish clubs as the other clubs just haven't got the financial firepower to compete with even average-sized clubs in the PL. And with the TV deal to come in next season many of those that are playing for the big two in Spain will be leaving like rats on a sinking ship. Already Spain's league is not a better league than our PL. Two strong clubs don't make a league.
There are 16 teams left in the competition: Real Madrid (ESP) Wolfsburg (GER) Atlético Madrid (ESP) Manchester City (ENG) Barcelona (ESP, holders) Bayern München (GER) Chelsea (ENG) Zenit (RUS) Paris Saint-Germain (FRA) PSV Eindhoven (NED) Benfica (POR) Juventus (ITA) Roma (ITA) Arsenal (ENG) Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) Gent (BEL) So that's 3 from Spain, 2 from Germany, 2 from Italy and 3 from England. Rest are just 1. So Spain and England have produced this season more teams that have won enough to get through to the last 16 than the other countries. The EPL this season is seeing an upset to the traditional order of things, and as a result of that, is a lot more engaging and exciting than normal. The other leagues are still dominated by the same one or two clubs. I fail to see how just because the most expensive/highly rated players are in 1 or 2 clubs over on the continent, that makes their leagues better. Unless you're one of the types who worship others teams players of course. The most exciting league for me is the one we're currently in, and that's always been the case. Other leagues wouldn't excite me without us in them.
In addition to being in the last 16 of the Champions League, Athletico Madrid are currently also second in La Liga.
I know some people are finding this Premier League season incredibly exciting mainly because Lester are winning it and Chelsea are struggling, cos that's the only real shift in terms of performance and every other team is doing, well pretty much exactly what you would expect of them. But for me the quality this season is appalling, one of the worst I have ever seen in the top flight. Its really very, very bad and people shouldnt confuse mistakes leading to 'excitement', for quality.
I bet there's a few of our teams fancying Gent in the next round above nearly all of the rest though. You look at the teams left and they all can match any of ours in my opinion. Despite that I have a sneaky feeling that we are going to have a shot of getting at least one team to the final this year, I would have a bet on Arsenal now but for the fact that they might get unlucky in the draw first match up then its curtains
Yes, but the manager has worked a miracle. I don't know whether Bumchin considers the club is stuffed with world class players.
If the market valuations of the players for Real, Athlético, and Barça were totted up then Athlético would be a very poor third so I'd say Simeone has worked miracles. Real and Barça have their own separate TV deals whereas I think Athlético just have to be content with getting a share of a joint deal made between the other clubs in the league and TV.
Guess Tigre doesn't rate Greizmann, Mandzukic, Juanfran, Godin, Koke or Gabi very highly then. All of which could get into most teams. Simeone has won every trophy he possibly can bar the UCL, and they were a whisker from that and IMO deserved to win it. To call that a miracle or luck is just plain ignorance.
The money in the PL & teams doing well in Europe should have little to do with the overall ability of the PL teams able to compete with each other IMO! Yes the same teams keep getting in the CL & Europa but they still get beat by **** teams in the PL, because the **** teams want to play harder & better against the top teams, why not in every game is a mystery. Also the financial gap isn't as much of a hindrance, it just over inflates average players that sign for PL teams. It also puts pressure on the top teams to spend silly money on average players. Utd are a classic example of this, this season! A lot of the fans are screaming for LVG to go as they got so used to success under Fergie, a lot of these probably weren't around when Fergie was looking for something & Hansen uttered those immortal words which come back & haunt him every MOTD! With LVG, I'm not sure what's happening but I think he'll get to the end of the season with a trophy, will it be kids to the rescue again?
Someone qualified only as a plumber would need to get an approved electrician to complete the electrics, or take an additional qualification themselves.
Most good plumbers will be Part P certified, enabling them to install electric showers, thermostats etc, mine fixed the electric control panel on the underfloor heating a couple of weeks back.
And? It's an additional qualification, over and above that of a plumber. They need an extra one for gas too. They're different trades.
