Having actual champions in Pot 1 mainly reveals how bad Milan have been for a decade, while also saying what UEFA think of several leagues
If we were the ninth club in Pot A we'd be ranked 5th.
If Liverpool win the CL final then they go in pot 1 and Ajax will be in pot 2.
And if they only win a domestic cup double you could power the country for a decade with the amount of tears
I understand why they're there, but Frankfurt being in Pot 1 ahead of the Scouse is odd.
The obvious question is whether UEFA chose to put EL winners into Pot 1 as a sense of reward, or if it was based on the assumption that one of The Usual Suspects who either missed out on CL qualification the previous season or dropped down into the EL after flarping through the CL group stage would stroll to victory in the lesser competition
...although the question is not as obvious as the answer
It remains to be seen what even happens with Ukrainian teams next season.
It seems incredibly unlikely that they'll be playing in their own country, if at all.
