It's so ****ing spiteful. It makes no sense.

If the season ticket holder doesn't go to the Olympiakos game their Man City seat is put up for sale. If sold the season ticket holder is refunded (after filling in paperwork at the end of the season, every bit of interest helps the debt)

So, either the ticket is sold to some random bloke rather than the guy who has already paid for his season ticket and been to every Man Utd game except one (god forbid a fan actually have work/illness/other things planned for a midweek cup game that couldn't be scheduled far enough in advance)

Or the seat isn't sold and the guy who paid for the seat is told to **** off back home because he's not being let in anyway and he's not getting his money back either

Surely the fan would have argument for a break in contractual terms? They paid for a season ticket that gets them a seat at all nineteen home games. This "threat" negates that agreement.

It sounds legally dodgy to have to commit to an unknown number of additional future payments though

And this is the "nice new" season ticket, it used to be if you miss a cup game your entire season ticket is permanently cancelled

 

It is bollox. As I said, buying a season ticket should get you nineteen home league games. Anything else you attend should cost more or there is a additional option for cup games (which could be a gamble as it could be two or ten games). Not attending / buying a cup ticket should in no way effect your season ticket. Plus, forcing season ticket holders to buy cup tickets ****s on the poor man that can't afford a season ticket. The cup games are were they have a better chance of getting to the match.
