    Carroll isn't in our starting XI and neither will Downing be. Bet you lot will come sniffing for Carroll though such will your desperation for a striker be come the end of the window.

    Our squad isn't "****e" by any stretch of the imagination - yes, we're short of options up front, but we have decent squad depth in defence and midfield, unlike most Premier League clubs.

    Carroll is a much better line leader than JD. I'd buy/loan him no danger, would have loved to see him playing for us tomorrow.
