Not much chance of signing anyone who would have much of an effect that is not cup-tied I'd have thought?
THEY DID NOT WIN THEIR LAST GAME, ffs, do Arsenal fans make up stuff now to make themselves feel better? Shalke DREW their last game.
"Arsenal have been turned over by Bayern Munich in the Champions League in the clubs' most recent meetings. In 2005, the Gunners slipped to an aggregate defeat, failing to claw back a 3-1 first-leg loss to the Bavarians. While in 2001 they advanced to the quarter-finals in spite of a 1-0 group-stage defeat in Germany." Not that this will have much bearing on the upcoming game itself. Both teams are totally different this time round.
We have got a very big buffer to the 4th ranked country. It would be a good few years till we slip out of the top3! http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method4/crank2013.html
We were struggling so much in the league at the time i still think it was the right decision. Our first team normally loses at Olympiakos anyway..
We are powerfully placed at the moment. Adding Man City to the mix, we have become an even stronger nation - Arsenal, Man U, Man City and Chelsea.
you remind of liverpool fans who were laughing on UTD back at 90s .. thinking that UTD will never be even close to their record, things will happen so don't be short term minded, Germany already closed the gap and may even go ahead of English clubs if they did better this season
City will be hit hard by FFP, they need to cut 40% of team to reduce the wages and stop spending as wages are 85% of turnover way bigger than 45% of UTD or arsenal.. they are still low seeded and can't win with full team let alone lose half of the team chelsea will see same destiny too shortly
Real form is as bad as UTD if not worst , is 50-50 at best , let alone having advantage of 2nd game at home so is nonsense you talk about us going out and now add to that we will be playing Real at 5th march 2 days after them playing barca so how on earth UTD is out ? unless that is your wish ?
The 3 top teams from pot 1 have drawn the 3 top teams from pot 2 - Barca-vs-Milan, Arsenal-vs-Bayern, Utd-vs-Madrid. And i find it very fishy that the rehearsal draw happens to have given the same results as the actual draw! I'm sure someone behind the scenes went "Oh, thats a tasty draw, let's have that tomorrow for the real thing!". I'm not overly keen on playing Bayern - i would have been more comfortable taking on any of the other sides except barca or dortmund. That said i don't think Bayern are unbeatable - they are a top top team though and we will have to play to our best to get through to the QF.
Your chances are of going through are even slimmer than ours. Your defence is laughably leaky. Also don't understand why people are saying Real are 'off form'. They could suddenly hit form. Doesn't matter anyway. They'll swipe Man U with relative ease. No contest.
not really .. Real form is bad.. is 50-50 and more to UTD as we have advantage of playing 2nd leg at home and 2 days after Real play Barca now i don't think you guys have better chance to beat Bayern, then add fact you gonna play 2nd leg away .. i don't think you are in 50-50 tbh but better luck .. hope we meet up in later stages
A teams current form has no bearing on how they will be playing when these fixtures come around. Madrid could be smashing in 6 each game by the time you play them shwan and likewise Bayern could be destroying teams or hitting a bad patch of form. It's too early to judge what chances our teams have of going through just yet. What is clear is that our games alogn with the Barca game will be the ones people are watching to see who goes through. A couple of upsets in these games (e.g. Arsenal, Utd or Milan going through) and we could have a really interesting torunament this year. If 2 of Barca/Bayern/Madrid go out at this stage then the cup is up for grabs.
I'm with you on this one, it's too early to tell. Who knows which team will hit form by then. Despite our sketchy start, we still have a very good group of players, with quite a bit of experience. The only way we can go is up, to be frank. We have a midfield that should be able to compete with the likes of Bayern - Rosicky, Wilshere, Carzorla, Arteta. If we hit form then it'll be closer than we think.
