A poster on the Spurs EL matchthread claims Everton got their tactics and team selection wrong. Something along the lines that the comp is a race and not a sprint and Everton should copy Spurs and use their squad players for Europe and keep the better players for prem games. Everton had a big win and Spurs scraped a bore draw.
We needed a win, so he played our first XI. They'll largely play again on Sunday and then he'll play the entire stiffs in the League Cup at Swansea. As usual Spurs fans show that they're clueless bell ends
City go 1-0 up after a ridiculous foul from Maicon. Great finish from Totti to level though - oldest player to score in the CL now at 38 (just ahead of Giggs).
Very good game. Enjoying watching PSG out-passing Barca at pace. The quick feet of some of their players is quality to watch. Lucas looks class.
Was going to watch the PSG Barca game but not a fan of watching Spanish teams as it turns into a non contact sport with them falling over at any tiny touch and then constant moaning about every decision.
The refs a goodun tbf. A few I thought he'd blow for, but he's letting quite a bit go. Pedro is a rat though so he'll always keep diving. I'm enjoying watching PSG's expansive football though. Barca definitely second best imo.
It's always said about Man City but the players they have they are so poor in Europe. People say that they're new to it so there always going to be but there are six or seven players in that squad who have played in the competition already, Yaya has won the thing!!
They insist on going with 2 up top which is brave, but 2 in midfield in Europe is always risky, and when one of them is Toure who doesn't do much defensive work then you're bound to get overrun in there.
This is very true, they are way too open and will get punished by elite teams in Europe. It's the same with Arsenal as well. It's no coincidence that only Chelsea have had any recent success in Europe. Also, Roma are a very good team to get drawn against from pot4. No one wanted them! EDIT: He's changed it now TBF.
The shocking reality of the English league is our best team is ordinary when out up against European sides Shock.... Buying a few Portuguese based players doesn't turn also rans into world beaters City are what they are which is a long way shy of European best
Except of gerrez who seemed to want to fantise that the hardest group would be ideal for lfc Greez are you thankful now we're off to Basel with 3 points already in the bag or what.....
Some interesting results around. Obviously Barca losing. Ajax only drawing away to Apoel Schalke only just levelled at home to Maribor BATE 2-1 up against Athletico Bilbao
Am I ****. I wanted the big games and can't wait for the Real games PS...Why are the three points in the bag?
