Interesting analysis of what Jack Cork brings to the team: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/blog/_/name/tacticsandanalysis/id/474?cc=5739

He's clearly been an important factor in our recent results, I think we've all been somewhat surprised at how important he evidently is to us, he was taken for granted a bit last season when he played in every match but he's been badly missed at the beginning of this season. I for one hope he stays fit for the rest of it, and what an inspired signing he has turned out to be. One of the premier league's best midfielders according to that article, for less than a million quid? It's amazing there wasn't more competition for his signature.

For me Cork has been better in the premier league this season than he was in the championship last season. I'm not saying he was bad last season, far from it, but this time round he's been very impressive. Just waiting now for Guly to make the magical improvement we kept getting told he would make once in the premier league :p

Perhaps he's too good for the premier league too and would only really shine in the Champions League <whistle>

Very interesting article -thanks for posting.
Good to see Jack Cork get some recognition in print for his efforts - and i agree with the writer, in that Tettey played very well on Wed night.

Yeah Tettey looked excellent as well. I think another player who deserves a similar mention is Youssouf Mulumbu. He was insane against us, and seems to be the key player for West Brom. They'd crumble without him, I reckon.

I think the reason for this is that we NEED him a lot more in the prem then we did before as we used to dominate possession more. He is definitely key to our season and needs to be kept fit. The other thing I have noticed is that his presences allows Morgan to push forward much more and help to link our attacks together or burst into the box.
