My view is that when the players pull on their jerseys, it's all about us v them. As a fan I'm 100% behind my team and that means being 100% against the opposition. But it's essentially a Pantomime for the fans, we are there watching a show for entertainment; so all of the crowd's antics, the banter, the Heroes and villians, the songs and chants are a bit like a Punch and Judy show.

After the game, most of the players, the managers and the fans realise that it's just the game and are at least civil to one another, if not former colleagues or good friends. The trouble is that some people don't know where the line is drawn. (I realise I'm saying this having been chucked out for making ****er gestures in the past, but it was a long time ago <whistle>)

I could understand if he was just out and about minding his own business but he's walking up to support his new team against his old team amongst fans that don't like him. I think by the time you're walking up to the ground, you're definitely in "match mode" so I find it neither surprising or particularly disgraceful.

Barton getting in an argument with Hamann and bringing up his family, gambling and alcohol abuse, now that is disgraceful.

They come across as total ******s. Good on Chamakh for standing up for Nasri tbh. Showing more class than the couple of idiot fans where.

Yeah, I suppose he was to expect a bit of it. But it's still not very classy. I think it's fair enough if Nasri and Chamakh want to walk to a match. Fans are oft complaining about players being detached from the fans, so this isn't really a good advert.

Agreed, maybe it was just because I read this thread and the Youtube comments before watching it, I was expecting a lot worse.
