    This is why the English game is fading fast. £10m for a player in the second tier? He has 'potential' but that doesn't mean he's going to fulfil it, and if he does, we'd probably sell him for a £5m profit anyway ala Dembele. We need a CM to come in and slot into the team straight away, is Hughes going to do that? I really rate the guy and would love him to come here but for £10m? Absolutely not.

    I'd seriously go for James McCarthy at Wigan....I'm guessing he's around 10m too.

    I'd come back to my really, really, very original suggestion of Chris Brunt. Left attacking midfielder, aged 28, out of contract with West Brom as of 30 June 2013.

    I'd say yes to Chris Brunt of WBA, have always liked him, but I don't think he's a step up from Steve Sidwell, and not sure he's what we need right now.

    love to see him join us must be worth 4/5mil,
    I see TH from Spurs is back in th frame this also coul be a good bet.
    + Rhodes.or Austin. loan Demps Zaha for season then hopefully Burn, Grimmer ,The Tank, & Woofrow
    will be ready to step into the breach we could then be a match for any Prem; team :<magic><magic><magic>

    Chris Brunt is only 28? I thought he was in his 30s. In that case, he would be a much better signing than I thought. I know that a few years ago he was a winger. How much has he played in the centre?
