all i have quoted was what every single ex scottish international players and managers were saying on the radio today. They said this could be the end of scottish football as they know it and they fear no good will come out of it. They agree that rangers needs to be punished but to throw them out of the SPL was suicide and wrong choice. clubs will suffer as they rely on playing celtic and rangers and now rangers are not there the tv revenue will be cut or even scrapped and that will effect every single club including celtic.......these are quotes from scottish players and managers from a wide spectrum all over the uk, king kenny cant believe what has happened and he is very disappointed by the short sightedness of the ones who voted them out.....and of course he is right.....
It will only be the end of them. Newspaper circulation increases in the build up to an old firm game.
So these ex managers and players, they know better than the Chairmen of the 10 clubs who voted against Rangers? They have some deep insight into the finances of the 10 clubs? I don't buy it. As much as it's a shame for the fans (for the most part) If Rangers were able to walk away from £134m worth of debt and make a fresh start in the SPL as if nothing had happened, would that have been "Fair"? It's a simple question of sporting integrity (Pardon the cliche), that is the bottom line, football is not supposed to be simply about cash, it's supposed to be a sport and as such it needs rules which have to be adhered to or the game will just be not financially hobbled, it would be morally crippled for life.
It will indeed be "the end of scottish football as we know it". The emphasis firmly on the "as we know it". That is not by definition a bad thing. Our league is a shambles, the SFA and SPL useless. We've been crying out for reform for years, maybe we'll finally get it. Finances will be tight but, beyond that, what will come next is inherently unpredictable, anybody claiming they know for sure is bullshitting. But any decision other than the one made today would've been totally and utterly wrong for the simple reason that it was against the wishes of the fans. As I say it's a stupid man who risks alienating his entire customer base - which is exactly what would've happened had the vote gone any other way.
Exactly Dev. The ten who voted 'No' did so, knowing that they were all going to go bust as a result? I don't think so. All this 'catastrophe-for-the-Scottish-game' rhetoric is being spouted mostly by the 'save-Rangers/Newco-brigade'. Rangers have brought shame and disgrace to Scottish football and the only way to try to remove the foul stench they have left behind them is for the Newco to start afresh in the SFL which, to be fair, a lot of their supporters advocate as well, albeit for differing reasons which are not so noble. Certainly, for decent Ranger's fans, it is hard to take and there will be a price to pay by everyone. What that price will be has still to be determined but I don't believe it will be anything like the doomsday scenario being forecast by the 'Establishment' club's sycophants. In any case, regardless of how bad the outcome, this is what Rangers FC and they alone, are guilty of doing to Scottish football.
lets face it prior to megabucks rangers in 1986 scottish football was in a very healthy position and doing well in europe. the cheats at rfc ****ed that, so **** 'em.
"Whilst the financial implications of today's vote for Celtic and for the Scottish game as a whole will be very significant, we have already stated that Celtic has a business plan and strategy independent of any other club." "In addition,we will be working with our other fellow SPL clubs in the days and weeks ahead to take all possible steps to maximise commercial returns, which remain crucial in these economically-challenging circumstances." Some strategy independant of any other club that!! An unbelievable statement.
You obviously don't understand the significance of the words "In addition" so your comprehension skills are very poor ... and you profess to be a student?
...and, its therefore essentially the fault of the english, if they hadnt got themselves an international ban, murray wouldnt have been able to have his "souness revolution", signing lots of the outcast english...chasing the impossible dream, eventually getting into EBTs and debt of ludicrous proportions , so ludicrous that he had to sell the lot for a pound.....time for the hun loyal to march to the border !!!!
That was my take on it previously. It's the fault of the English - such a parcel of rogues. Rangers fans ... pikes at the ready ... January, February ...

No, even before the English were banned the rise of the New Firm (accelerated by us putting wads of money into developing the ground) necessitated the eventual rebuilding of our team. Bringing in Souness, butcher, Wilkins and co, was entirely the fault of the new firm. Their 80's success has destroyed Scottish football We march on Pittodrie!!!
We will use the not walking away one as an excuse not to actually walk all the way up there, or we might hitch hike.
Exactly buddy, why doesn't everybody compare football in the 80's to football today, the money from the TV was exactly the same FFS! Proddy bastards!
LOL why would England let you in can you please give the address of the person telling you this so we can all go and slap him.
