I have but one question for you, Celtic88. Why have you never posted on your own clubs' board? Are you a closet Hull fan?
Another troll question *sigh* But i'll bite to humour you, i'm a regular user on TalkCeltic board only signed up here to disscuss the possible move of one of our players to your clubs, which is custom with players coming and going from our club or clubs we will be palying, thats why we have good reations with clubs across Europe like St pauli, PSV and Barca. We are a freindly bunch, thats why we got voted best supporters and got given an award for it by UEFA. Of course we have our idiots just like every other club, i suspect you have a few who are hiding in the closet or maybe your one of them yourself as if you looked at the celtic board on here you would see tumbleweed blowing across your screen, maybe that would be a reason, wouldn't you think?
Without this meaning to get into a discussion about the Scottish game as a whole, but is not one of the many problems in the Scottish game that there are too many professional clubs and that if (sorry to be all business like) some merged/went to the wall would not Scottish football be in a healthier state
Actually I think I have a fair idea about what the OP said and meant. You appear to have countered your own argument. Even the England selectors (~with their bizarre selection history) tend to look at how players perform under pressure and against quality opposition. My point was that moving to the EPL he will play against better opposition. My suggestion was that he would be better served by moving from the SPL to the EPL. Unfortunately for you that means moving from Celtic to any EPL club. At the moment the only positive offer on the table in those terms is Hull City. If Fulham, Man U or Chelsea come in for him then they may well have advantages over Hull. Though of course he would have to factor in the possibility that for Man U or Chelsea he could end up as a bench warmer, as you said. Either way he is better off, at the moment, accepting the Hull offer. Better offers from better clubs may (or may not) follow. As far as I can understand, you seem to be saying that in the current Scotland squad 9 play in Scotland, and 17 (9+8) don't. Though I accept many of those were capped before they left Scotland (presumably to improve their standard of living (higher wages) or just to play at a higher standard). Which I rather think proves my point, Celtics position is undermined by playing in the SPL. It seems to me that either you have to improve the SPL or move to a different league, which realistically could only be the EPL (if they will have you).
As if anymore evidence was needed as to just how loony the SPL,, sorry SPFL now is just read this..... www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/st-mirren-skipper-jim-goodwin-1964990 only up there.
Indeed John. Can you immagine Man Utd having there 2nd league game @ home to Chelsea postponed for a friendly game with Barcelona ? It just would not happen. Give St.Mirren the points as it wont make a jot of difference at the end of the season.
