Hello and welcome to the match thread for the last friendly of the 2013 pre season!
date Saturday, August 10th
Time 17.00

So the season is almost upon us lads, it has seemed a long summer. But finally the new season is on the horizon. I think we will put out the best 11 we can for this game, and wouldn't surprise me if its the same 11 that starts Vs Stoke the week after

Nice one mate. A win would do lovely, and a clean sheet. Hoping Borini can get his name on the score sheet, give the lad some sort of confidence going in to the new season.
 
Sturridge in 22-man Dublin squad

Daniel Sturridge has been included in Brendan Rodgers' 22-man squad for the Reds' final pre-season fixture, against Celtic in Dublin on Saturday.

The Liverpool striker returned to full training on Monday following an ankle injury and joins his teammates for the match at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow.

Defender Glen Johnson is also available for selection after missing the trip to Norway in midweek, where the Reds made it six wins out of six by beating Valerenga 4-1.

Rodgers' squad in full is: Jones, Johnson, Enrique, Toure, Alberto, Gerrard, Aspas, Coutinho, Assaidi, Henderson, Sturridge, Coates, Downing, Lucas, Mignolet, Allen, Borini, Sterling, Kelly, Flanagan, Ibe, Wisdom.
 
anyone know if this a 3 sub max game ? I think it might be. Usually the last friendly is a "glamour" tie at Anfield played in the official rules. I hope this one is tbh purely from a selfish pov as im going to it.

Just had the Liverpool team get off a flight I work on in Dublin.they looked so bored hope their saving energy for tomorrow
 
i think anyone would be bored of preseason at this point. another away day after having a great time at anfield? nah i think they are all just wanting the off.

but its business travel. they do it all the time so you get bored of the same old....

fringes and toes crossed for now celtic sledging.
 
Game has come in the middle of our champion league qualifiers , so we will have mainly our squad players out tonight . We've had some great battles in Europe you came out in top 1997 we got revenge 2003 .we've played friendlies , your first game after Hilsborough was at a packed Celtic Park , then you beat us 6-0 at your place at Ian Rush testimonial . Enjoy the game
