Not a great performance and we're oot. Anyone notice that Matthews has been pants in recent games? He was joined by Ki today, utter mince.

Time to concentrate on the league. <ok>

I thought Matthews done alright. Forrest and Ki were poor in my eyes, Stokes anonymous in the most part too. To be fair, not really been disgraced in a group that could have been deemed champions league level of teams, never mind europa.

Well there we are, to be honest i am not too disappointed in the result, i am more concerned with the league anyway. I would have been disappointed if we had been outplayed and put in a poor performance, but i am happy enough with the fight shown by most of our players. I know some will disagree with me but thats my opinion for what its worth.

    That is that.

Athletico took the sting out of the game really well. That said, I still think Hooper's goal looked like a good one. Those two bucko's at the back are permanently dodgy. Something to play for in Italy at any rate.

Kayal has recently broken his schnozzle......but that is no excuse for that. He looked good apart from that. Davie Ki was frustrating. Stokes has been working hard. Big George was great.

    I am with you Hoopster.

I neglected to mention the Bhoy Matthews..... He's only a child and he is playing like that.

Hope it isn't a bad one, like Pud says he rarely has a poor game. Typical that Brown comes back and Ledley goes off injured.

We could have drawn tonight and been out ,all to play for in Italy .Madrid once they went ahead showed they are a good team .Why are there so many negative comments on our players tonight ??? On the whole we played well

I don't think it is fair to blame Forrester for goal that was conceded, the big goalie's job was made very hard by Kayal.
I thought our centre backs did o/k last night as did Matthews. The two players who would have both been disappointed with
themselves were Li and Forrest both have been a lot better.

A good workman like performance. Celtic could easily have got a draw.

Spanish press called our goalie an Elephant !! Also said that samaras has all the ability in the world but lacks interest , the one player they praised was big Danny
