Match Day Thread Celtic (Away)

Don’t worry results are meaningless.

The performance however seemed to be shambolic and if that doesn’t highlight the need for players then nothing will. I’ll still be astonished if we sign more than two more, and even then they’ll be subs.

Isak is being sold so it might explain a bit more. The **** is about to hit the fan.

Minutes in the legs lads.

Gotta get ourselves Scalvini in ASAP. CB is just not strong enough.

Sell Willock, Targett & Krafth at the earliest opportunity. Shahar and Murphy can replace the full backs, need to buy a CM's to replace Willock & Longstaff. Osula is just not ready to lead the line just yet, hopefully some more pre-season games will get him closer.

They're not going to sell them mate and they'll probably bring in very little. It's worth remembering we've sold almiron, longstaff and Kelly and we already needed 4 or 5 signings before that. If they sell Willock Krafth and targett we'd need about 8... It's not going to happen.

We're heading for news of Isaks sale and fanbase pandemonium I think, shortlt before losing our 1st two fixtures...

The clubs for sale I think... Asset stripping for years now

Willock needs replacing, yes. Krafth and Targett? Nah, we have adequate replacements from the academy for what they offer on the pitch

The quotes from Howe about Isak have confirmed his exit IMO. The worst one was when asked if Isak would go to Asia, Howe literally said “at this moment in time he’s part of the squad”. <laugh>

Tell me he’s sold without telling me he’s sold, Eddie.

Think the stressing is about the performance. Was like Leyton Orient all over again, and we know how that ended.

they just came back from weeks of chilling out whilst Celtic are nearly done with pre-season completely.

since you're a teacher, would you say you've gone the same as most I had in which you simply dont give a **** anymore?

So many seem to completely tune out after a few years
Not sure it's a don't give a **** anymore. It's the incessant amount of admin we now have to do on top of old ideas being rebranded and having to attend training courses on this (in our own time), having inexperienced teachers think they know everything and ignore your advice because they know best (had one the other week say that after 2 years teaching he had now perfected it <laugh>). On top of that getting **** daily by the leadership team, the children (Obviously only the odd one), parents, Ofsted, the government, the media, everyone who has never been in the classroom. Then you get people blaming teachers for the curriculum, the fines for holidays and non attendance (and the school requiring the teacher to do all the chasing of this bollox). Abuse will not be tolerated unless you're a teacher (yes, yes, I know that'll be other jobs that may get this too). You then get the right wing morons blaming us for brain washing children in trans, LGBT, politics etc and then the left wing morons blaming us for not doing that. Then you get the people saying that this or that should be taught like proper British history. Why's there no white history month etc.

I just try to do what I think is right by the children that sit in my classroom.

I could go on <laugh>

“It was my decision," Howe admitted. "I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him. The last thing he wanted is to be sat in the stand watching, that wasn’t fair to him. But I’m confident he will be a Newcastle player come the end of the window.”

The manager still hopes that he will be able to count on Isak for the 2025-26 season, but was pragmatic in his outlook. He added: "It's difficult for me to give 100% clarity on any player. Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, and the team. I'm confident he'll be here at the start of the season."
