The other funny one they try to deny on that list is Adolph Hitler, and their facts are a wee bit sketchy. He never lived in the Dingle in the 20's, he lived at 102 Upper Stanhope Street in Toxteth in 1912/13, in which time, he painted Parkgate on the Wirral, and supported Everton, starting the traditional throwing of bananas at black players ;-)
Adolph Hitler I never read it through, but Hitler,Imagine bragging about SAF's grandad supporting your club.
A glaring ommision from this list is The Beatles - I've never seen owt from them about football, apart from the fella on the album cover. If I were on the cover I wouldn't be happy with sharing it with Crowley fella. So why have the Beatles never fetched up at Anfield or Goodison or Tranmere? I don't even remember any of them (the ones who still alive of course) getting involved in the Hillsborough stuff, unlike Gerry and Pacemakers. All these Holywood actors can't be taken seriously - they live PR, and it's clearly fashionable to follow a real football team these days. Only James Garner (Rockford Files) was a follower of football back when it was still known as "that soccer game" in the states (now its just "soccer", progress eh?), and Steve McQueen at Chelsea can be put down to him wanting to sample the whole Kings Road thing whilst on a trip to London.
TenG. That ''Fella'' on the Beatles 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts club'' album sleeve is Albert Stubbins. He was the 1940s answer to Ian Rush. He's 4th in the list of Liverpools highest league goalscorers. ''Sir'' Roger Hunt is 1st. Rushie is 2nd. King Billy Liddell is 3rd. Albert Stubbins is 4th. Neverton fans claim Sly Stallone is a Toffee, but that was just a publicity stunt to promote Rocky Balboa. He got rather upset when Everton fans got him to say his most famous line ''Aiddddriannnn''.
