I seem to remember reading that Kaboul had the same 'injury' as King. It doesen't follow that the outcome will be the same. We must hope that a lot was learned from the King knee problem and steps can be taken to ensure that the outcome is better.
Sorry mate, I'm a bit sensitive today. Lack of sleep and crisis after crisis at work (OK technically I'm at work now, but I do need to go elsehwere for stress relief sometimes). I know we both want the best for Spurs! My more considered response is that I think BAE is the best option we have in that area at the moment, and he worked particularly well as a combination [perhas fits better into the 'best team' thread] with Bale on the left. I think you often get those combos that benefit both players, like I think Corluka was better with Lennon than Walker is. I think that at his best he's one of the left backs in the league and certainly provides good entertainment, and to be honest for me it's a lot about entertainment! Back to the original comment about Caulker, when I first heard of the transfer I thought, "that's a shame, but at least he's played for Swansea before and they know him there". For some reason the move to Swansea seemed to make much more sense, which is why I guess I misheard it.
I rate Caulker highly, and wish he would have stayed. But I guess we have to sell someone, and while selling Caulker is strange (especially with Vertonghen out), selling Gylfi or Holty might just be stranger. (One because he was steadily evolving as a starter, the other because he never had half a chance to show what he could do, really--and looked great in the "free role" in the under-21 Euros.)
It is all rather simple, you wanted a certain price and we paid that price so obviously no one else offered more. Then the player decided he wanted to come here. That is the usual way transfers are done. The majority of Cardiff fans are more than happy to be in the premiership and we will see how we do very shortly. Winning the championship is massive for any club as only one or two teams ever win the premiership, we did not scrape through the play-offs and have strengthened the squad and we have now shown serious intent in the transfer market. However, it is pleasant that other teams here are already talking about us more than their own teams so thanks for that. best of luck to everyone, jck
I can guarantee you we all know how transfers work. We're famous for them on deadline day, we're linked with about 1000 players per window and we sign and sell quite a few. What the debate is about on here is WHY we were accepting offers, not how the transfer actually happened.
''However, it is pleasant that other teams here are already talking about us more than their own teams so thanks for that.'' Mate, Sutton United are a more popular topic than you lot on this board.
Massive mistake imo. Yeah he makes mistakes but so does Dawson and everyone seems to love him. Caulker will end up at Man U, City or Chelsea in years to come and we will look like idiots.
We should adopt the barca way, offload young players early (pique, alba, fabregas and i'm sure there are more), let them become top players at other clubs and them they will come crying back to their beloved home and play for the best team in the world (ok we have to work to do before we reach that status, but its a nice dream).
the lad wants to play at the world cup, he's backed himself to prove himself by playing every week at a lesser club, he took no convincing to come here too, so although he will move on in future, committed 100%
