I know what you mean - and it is all relative. Someone earning tens of thousands of pounds is not going to put a tenner on red.

Having a lot of money does not bring responsibility - it is his money and he can do with it what he wants.

Should the Club look after him? To a certain extent. He is an ambassador for the Club so this is where the responsibilty kicks in. He has got to be aware that Swansea is a small city compared to London and the players are in a gold fish bowl.

The more we look at them and raise judgement the quicker they will go back to London.

I've never worried about people with money , no matter who they are . Although gambling can be a rough on any person , I've seen to many middle class families working to keep the wolves away because of gambling ....hope he gets it under control though

Personally I abhorr gambling - especially the way it is has now become heavily associated with Football. The Ray Winstone adverts (wasn't he supposed to be an ambassador for the English FA) glamourise gambling in football.

    The end result is debt.

It's the opposite. There is plenty to do in London, so no need to gamble and drink. He's probably bored ****less in Swansea. It's not exactly a happening place is it? Town shuts early, no good shops, no decent theatres, just an empty boring town. before anyone says it, yes it's got the sea and Gower. But London also has beaches and countryside withing easy travelling distance. Swansea is the sort of town that drives you insane after living in London. I've lived in both and enjoyed living in both. But after living in London I could never live in Swansea again. Most people I know feel the same way.

So true. you must love the Swans for encouraging fans (including very young fans) to gamble. Gambling companies shouldn't be allowed t sponsor football clubs, especially when there are children at the matches. It is shameful of the Swans to accept such sponsorship.

Yes his money, but the responsibility comes from within, if you can't look after the financial aspects of having a lot of money then you are going to have problems. There are many players out there who have problems with gambling, it appears that Caulker at 20 years old has this problem as well.

As for doing stuff in Swansea, they have a job that takes up a lot of their time, they are travelling up and down the country almost every week, so I don't think that has a lot to do with anything. One thing with him going back to Spurs soon is that he is going to have a lot more free time as I don't think he will be a regular first 11 or even make the bench. He has this problem here think there will be far more opportunities to do more harm to his finances up there.

Depends what you like. I returned from living in Sydney to live in Swansea. Each has its charms and there are things about both that I miss when I'm not there. I've also lived in London. Again, it has its positive aspects like lots of things to do but crime rates are horrific and there are parts that make Blaenymaes look like Shangri-La. In Swansea I can go SCUBA diving straight from work and be back in time for a pint. Can't do that it Walthamstowe.

Depends what floats your boat really.

Whether you like city life or a more rural setting we have both a stones throw from each other. Wherever you`re from wherever you may roam theres no place like home.
And a lot of people who have visited swansea have decided to make it thier home for the rest of thier lives because after seeing the rest of our country nothing else compares .<nahnah>

And Caulker unless he`s an air head will know where the line is not to be crossed with the great future he has ahead of him and at 20 yrs old he`s bound to have a wild blow out now and then. Rogers can put him on a short leash if required but i think a word in his ear should be enough to remind him what is expected of him outside the club and the consequences of non compliance !

The graveyard of Ambition is our Swansea! many come to visit and end up staying. We dont realise how lucky we are being born and bred in such a wonderful area footballers realise this too when they move here, more so the ones with young families, i also think the city offers players a chance to get their ego stroked alot more than if they were in Liverpool or London, here they are the focus of attention in the papers and the nightclubs (and the Casino's it seems) and pro footballers generally love all the attention that it brings. Caulker probably gets the premier league slappers in Swansea where if he was in London he would be a division below due to his reletive lack of fame <laugh>

If he wants to play the big time charlie and flash his cash around town thats up to him, he is young and living the dream, if things were getting out of hand on the casino front im sure some of the senior boys like Monk and Ash would pull him up on it and offer some advice, all the players talk about the team spirit and we have a great captain who would no doubt be on him if there was any serious problem.

As i said earlier, most of the things we hear about the players are exaggerated anyway, leave the boy have some fun and live his life how he wants, time will tell if there are any problems and he wont be our player then anyway <ok>

In the past some Cardiff posters have said 'The Graveyard of Ambition' is Dylan Thomas's sad indictment of his hometown. In fact the reverse is true, as those with half a brain realise.
