I've made no secret that I think he's one of the most underrated at the club! Ssn say he's a big part of poyets plans so I'm backing our boss

Must admit im a big Catts fan as you may have noticed. If he could add goals to his game and use his brains abit better when tackling he'd be going to the Worldcup imo.

Great news. We need the likes of Bardsley and Cattermole to add the fuel to the fire of the survival fight, Wembley Final and FA Cup run still. We have been very lucky wit injuries thus far but that could all change with 2 bad tackles. Our squad is thin to start with and we don't want to give any of our relegation rivals any assistance with their fight.

Good window this for Gus IMO.

Not how IF. He's better than the likes of Cleverley. Who else do England have in the holding role??

The way this is written on the BBC makes it sound like we accepted the bid, but Catts chose to stay?

Either way, I'm happy he's staying. Great squad member and essential at the moment - at least until we know whether or not Bridcutt can hack it in the PL.

If Catts loses the Red Mist and matures he can be an asset. But 25 year old with bad back I would shift, Combined with his Dissy and Injury would have cashed in me like. All about opinions. ( still pleased he is in our team2mo tho)

Cleverley breaking into the England set up has renewed my hopes of a call up at the grand old age of 49, even though I am completely unfit and at least 3 stone overweight.

He is shat and I certainly wouldn't swap him for Catts at all.

I agree, although don't think selling him in jan to a relegation rival would have been particularly clever.

Don't think he's got a long term future at the club now Bridcutt is here (as he's obviously rated v highly by Gus)

i see it now byron, bridcut debut goal, borrini then nacho man comes on a sub to finish them off with a bute, then jozy gets a hatrick, followed by a pile driver into the top corner, colback gets one, and alonso gets his first, full time whistle goes 0-9 new record

then i realised it will be borrini 1st scorer 1-2 scocco, taylor spontaneously combusts on 73 minutes and dies

I wonder if this has been a big revenge/wind up masterminded by Gus given his unhappiness about Stoke doing their 'courting' of our players in their local press? I assume cap'n Catts was in on it rather than risk messing with his head

Why go to Stoke ?Live on the Wirral rather than Pennywell or Farringdon ? Peter Crouch did, why do you think we end up with numpties ? No one wants to sign 4 us….we end up with Gardener on daft money or Bent and Gyan who want out. Its the same at Newcastle.
