sunderland captain admits the club could be relegated.

i can understand why the fans are getting nervous, i can't say we won't get relegated, you never know.

we had high hopes and people were talking of europe. but injuries and DISRUPTIONS IN JANUARY have made it hard for us.

but we can still finish on a high, there's still five games left and who's to say we can't get four wins.

i'm kinda at a loss as to how to take this interview???????????:emoticon-0107-sweat

But Michael Gray also said this...

He said: “I do speak to a few of the players and they tell me no [him leaving didn’t affect them], they said if he’s not happy there no point keeping him at the football club, which is totally right, you don’t want somebody upsetting your dressing room.”
Gray also believes a win against Wigan next weekend is vital for the Mackems to turn around the horrendous run of from.
“They’re in such a slump at the minute,” he told the Weekend Sports Breakfast. “They can’t even buy a win, one point in [27] isn’t good Reading, but I’ve been to see them quite a lot this season and yesterday they played well, like Steve [Bruce] said, they just need that goal, something they can hang on to and at the minute it doesn’t seem to be coming.
“It’s a really difficult one to put your finger on, they played well [against Birmingham] but they’ve just got to get out there on the training pitch again, work their socks off and make sure they get the right result against Wigan at the weekend because now it’s a massive game.
“They’ve got to understand the situation they’re getting dragged in to, what they’ve probably said is, ‘you need one win and you’re safe’, but they could have said that seven games ago, so with the amount of games going by it’s getting a bit worrying but we’ve got games in hand, teams below us are about five points away, so we have got a little bit of a gap.
“We’ve just got to keep our fingers crossed that the win comes quicker rather than later because going into the last couple of games of the season you don’t want to still need that win.”

Not the most inspirational interview with our cluB captain is it, you can talk all this **** before and after games about standing up and being counted but its on the pitch where it matters and we simply are not worthy of being in the premiership on current form.

he's obviously been reading the steve bruce's guide on inspirational words to the media and fans,

**** where's milliband, teach these fella's about public speaking...

Well we are assuming that the "disruption in January" is due to Bent.
Cattermole could just as easily be talking about Sess and Muntari. Two new players walking into starting spots without earning the right. Pretty dispruptive.

actulally mate, i wasn't thinking in that way, but now you've said it, you may be right,
guess he can't say that though.

good point marra

I think it was on Look North sport show on a Monday evening where Mickey Gray said he wasn't going to have a shave until we won a game.

ZZ Top ? or The Wild Man of Borneo come to mind?

By the way, did you realize that 1 point from 27 is (to the nearest whole number) 4 points for a season.

Makes the 15 pointer look good eh!

I reckon after the way we played on Saturday we should be ok for at least 1 more win and maybe a couple of draws.
It isn't what I was hoping for at the end of December though.
