Ok, you don't rate cattermole, I do. It doesn't really matter.

As for challenging my pride. We are adults remember.

Anybody think Cattermole should have done better for Swansea's 2nd goal last night?

Yes - I think everyone does! But I think the referee put doubt in his mind after giving a pen for the Ayew kicking the ground!! Thought Catts looked knackered last night TBH - Johnson did too but it's his first game for over a week so that makes no sense to me - Johnno was rubbish IMO!

Catts hasn't had much time to get back up to speed since the back injury . Shame he can't be eased back in but we are sh*te without him.

Think he's being managed quite wqell by Sam - plays him for an hour then subs him recently - hopefully we'll see the benefit longer term as, like you say, we are poor without him

Is that Cattermole's fault, or the **** he has been playing with the last 4 seasons ? We've either had a **** defence, **** attack, **** midfield or any combination of those every single season. The only exception to that was a brief period where we Gyan and Welbeck upfront, and we finished 10th (and Cattermole was in our midfield then)

Doubt you will change your mind though, and we've had this debate several times before

    I'm aware of that.

I keep reading the same thing but nothing's changed has it?

Maybe Zidane will come out of retirement and team up with Pirlo at Sunderland just to prove your point.

He's a true leader, his ability to adapt his game the last couple seasons with a tarnished unwarranted reputation speaks volumes of the bloke. Class! If Stoke had him, they'd be 5th/6th

Who would he replace Whelan? <laugh> GW's one of the best passers of the ball in the league.

No he wouldn't. They're 7th and doing very well. You can't just say he'd walk into the team because it's just Stoke and they're not an attractive side to play for historically. If they had no injuries, he wouldn't get on the pitch, not once.

    Married life's great pal.

    Less of everything though... everything!

Never said he was comparable to bloody Zidane, I'm not that daft ! Point will be proven either way when (if) we keep M'villa, get some strikers in who actually score goals (aside from Defoe -who is 33 now), a decent defence and a good and consistent central attacking midfielder and wingers. Presuming we can do this before Catts retires or dies of old age (a big ask I know), and we manage to finish in the top 10 for a couple of seasons in a row or not.

Cattermole's lack of suitors is down to his rep for his discipline imo, more than his lack of talent as a player.

    Convenient.

I'm not trying to be a dick here mate, I know it seems I'm coming across as one maybe. Apologies if you're offended in any way.

I was inferring that until you surround him with top, top class players, he'll still be a dud. M'Vila is managing to look ****-hot without the need for top talent around him, Cattermole has M'Vila by his side and he looks equally as redundant as ever. I'm not saying he's an awful player, just that his style isn't suited for this league, in today's game.

You're saying he needs great players around him to make him look good, no good player should need that. We made ****ing Anderson look good on occasion by playing him with great players, on his own, he drowned.

There always seems to be an excuse for Catts, he is a very poor footballer imo.but we need him atm. As we do AJ who is at times sublime and others abject, his forward pass to JD last night was a cracker and sealed the game for us, after a very poor first half, he began to stretch the play and fitted in well with JL. The real test will come against a Spurs eleven, If Sam plays a similar team and we avoid defeat, we are on our way.
