He's played against some of the toughest players in the world. He could have mention anyone.

But it doesn't say he was asked who was his toughest opponent, just that he remembered Cattermole for being strong, that's a lot different from saying he was his toughest opponent.

It's irrelevant anyhow, Toure doesn't decide who's good and who isn't either way.

Tel, he still could have mentioned anyone else. ;)

    It's irrelevant because we're going down and he'll be offski at which point I won''t give a ****. The Smoggy **** <laugh>

    Incredible stat is that.

Should we be trying to get Shelvey? Ugly as ****, absolute bell end, but on his day exactly what we need? I say yes!

Shelvey in front of Catts and M'Vila has a nice feel to it aye?

He's someone who does all of the ugly things that need doing in a team and his passing is often over looked because of his reputation, I think he's one of the more under rated players in the league because he made some horror tackles early in his career and his red card record is appalling so people form an opinion on him based purely on this. The daft thing is he's sorted these aspects of his game out now, he very rarely makes reckless tackles and hasn't been sent off in quite some time, he's a much more responsible player than he used to be and has been a big part of the reason this team has been dragged to safety over the last couple of years. He's someone who seems to make the players around him up there game and energy levels, he's never going to be Pirlo or Paul Scholes but I'd say he comfortably fits into the bracket of being a poor man's Roy Keane, I think even a poor man's Roy Keane can walk into a team like ours

I have to admit that 2 or 3 years ago I'd of happily had him out of the team, I used to think he was a liability and offered very little but he's proven me wrong in a big way.

I've watched Cattermole improve so much. Hus game is no longer just break it up and pass it sideways. He is a better passer of the ball than most give him credit for. Very rarely booked nowadays too as he's much more controlled. I love Catts. I watched Rooney against Sheffield Utd and he looked shot! I know he is a quality player but he's in awful form and it doesn't help having van gaal playing the way they are as you're woeful to watch at the minute but, I'd swap crap to watch and 5th in the league to where we are though!! All about opinions though and I won't try to convince you mines right! I only try that with the wife... And she's always right anyway!! (Don't tell her I said that though!)

Wives are always right mate, my wife just forced a poor waiter to half our bill just by telling him to, she's got eyes that'll kill you if you don't let her win!

Difference between you and I mate is that I think our whole team look ****, not just Rooney, he's never going to look good playing in this system. World class midfielders such as Basti look depressed and lost... Something has to give but a win tomorrow will probably paper over the cracks again!

Cattermole is the difference between us having half a chance on a Saturday, or if he's unavailable, no chance..

I've read that some people think he's not right for the modern game? Well to me he's perfect for the modern game, the sheer amount of graft, tackles, blocks and interceptions that man does in a game is staggering. He can also play good football, which many don't appreciate.

To say our failures over the years are partly his fault, and to move on we need to depart with him, is simply shocking. We've signed bad player after bad player, but the only person that's consistently played well is cattermole.

I don't blame TJ for thinking how he does, simple reason why is because he doesn't watch him enough.

With Cattermole you either love him or hate him & if your employed by SAFC & want to keep your job you've only got one choice.
Why have we failed season after season when so many players have arrived if he's such a good leader?

Yeah I hardly watch him, that's why no club has tried to prize him out of your clutch for all these years.

I've seen more than enough of him to draw my own conclusions thanks, you're more than welcome not to agree though <ok>

Stoke tried to sign him for the last 2 windows..

Of course, your opinion is valid , as is everybody's. But i think to appreciate the man, you need to see him week in week out, and that's why I don't believe you've seen him enough, in fact I think you are judging him based on his disciplinary record ect.

By the way I agree with you about Rooney, I still think he's a great player, but he's surrounded by the worst utd team I've seen, with tactics that make it nearly impossible to score. He should be a gaurenteed starter at the euros

Yes stoke, who strolled past your lot a few weeks ago.

No need to be patronising, we are just having a conversation about football.

And if you were that bothered about the match, you wouldn't be on here chatting about lee cattermole, whilst the game is on.

    I can multi task, thankfully.

Stoke beat us, who hasn't? ****ing hell you named one club who's been in for him two years ago.

You've been equally patronising, Saying I've not seen enough of him. Lorient aren't on the tele either every game but I can still comment on Kone's ability. Everything I've said has been denied, rebuffed and rubbished but you're 19th with Mr Fabulous Wet Dream in your team as your lynchpin. Again.

You sound like his dad and I'm challenging your pride. Boo hoo.
