Just a red. Interestingly, the BBC says Shelvey has had 4 yellows and 1 red in all competitions - even though he's missed one game for 5 yellows and 1 for the double yellow.

Shelvey, effectively, has had 5 yellows and 1 red this season.
I said a few seasons ago when Catts got a three match ban for calling the ref a **** against the mags, that he should've talked himself into a second yellow on the 93rd minute as he'd have missed one game (it was his tenth booking). As it was he missed 4 because he got himself a straight red and the yellow still counted

If Catts maintains his current form there is no doubt he will be capped by England, no matter who he is playing for, I just hope it is still us.

Wasn,t a fan for quite a while but fair is fair, Catts definitely brings something to the team, he's improved heaps and that includes disciplinary record too.
A big slice of humble pie for me and well deserved award Catts

    Disagree.

He is worthy of a call up but hodgeson will be aware that if he selects him and it ends in a red card then the media will absolutely hammer him. For this reason he stays away

He won't get red carded in the same manner he has here, his reputation won't hold up on the international stage imo.

Shelvey, is far more unreliable than Catts on current form, yet he is called up, so why not the reformed Catts.

INtresting that Michael Carrick is now injured. A Player who was recovering from injury, played about 10 minutes all season and got picked. Andros Townsend - another no mark that has hardly played all season is also picked but injured now. Hodgson is a twat and I have so little time for him. He seems to be totally uninterested in form (perferctly proven by Townsend picked for the friendly in March before Johnson who had 9 goals in 10 games or something leading up to it).

I wonder how Johnson's form would have been after the England squad announcement had he been in the squad. He must've thought "well what's the point - I want to play for the national squad but they're not interested in my form"

Catts deserves to be called up. Nobody can say that he doesn't (if they've seen him play a few times this season)

Has Carrick been replaced yet mate? There's not a lot of options in his DM role so Cattermole must be in with a shout. Or is he not being replaced?

No he hasn;t been replaced as far as I know. I understand the reason Hodgson picked him but can;t understand that he has picked a player recovering from a lay off with little game time (if you get my meaning) - I rate Carrick but think he shouldn;t have been picked in the squad. Catts has shown willing and also said numerous times that he wants to play for England. Cleaned up his act no end and is a much better footballer to boot (particularly than the Shelvey's and Delph's of this world) but he won't get a sniff. But let's be honest. Regardless of how bad Stevie G is playing this season, he'd still be Roy's first choice so the England setup can go f** themselves for me. Hope Slovenia hammer them! I honestly do

Why the hell was Townsend even picked? Much like Colback in the first squad where he was carrying an injury and possibly wouldn't make it for the games yet Hodgson takes him anyway - there are players in better form, playing more games and FULLY FIT which should be picked ahead of him. HOdgson is clueless as far as I'm concerned and the sooner he goes the better

I don't think Carrick would have got a game, I think he was probably fetched in for his experience more than anything else but saying that Hodgson's never showed any logic to his selections so my guess is as good as yours mate.

I think a lot of English players will be resigned to not playing under Hodgson no matter how they perform, it's a sad state at the minute the national team mate.

Perfect actually, for an overhaul of the squad and giving some more unconventional players a go, even some from the Championship dare I say it. Unfortunately we have a manager who has his favourites and will jump-rope as and when the FA tell him to so there's no chance of that happening.
