More than a few were writing Connor off not so long ago, was beginning to wonder myself if he would ever make it here. Glad he proved me wrong.

Have to wonder if the lad feels mistreated by the club and fancies a move elsewhere as there would be interest now surely.

With the heavy pricetag he came with we all thought It'd bring instant success, unfortunately CW is a young lad and has taken time to gel and has been mismanaged. the fact he scored away to man city & chelsea speaks volumes especially in our situation at the time.. up until the man citeh game i'd agree that he had been mistreated but if he has half a heart like catts he'll recommit to the club who gave him his chance.

You obviously mean the "can go as far as he wants" bit... As in any direction that's not towards Sunderland!

One of the worst buys in our history in my opinion.

He was brought in as an expensive highly-paid panic measure despite having mocked the club.

I can't wait to see the back of him ........ and not in any sexual way <laugh>

We probably don't know the while story but if he did think he had made the big time, but was not prepared to put the effort in, in training/matches then not sure how he was mistreated by the club.

The loans probably done him the world of good, planted his feet firmly back on the floor as he had to go back down s division to show any form of desire.

I just hope it wasn't a flash in the pan and he can keep it going next season.

It's too easy to forget that some of these players are just kids, and some don't handle other peoples expectations as well as others.

Time to get tough on him and say, you sign or you spend the next 12 months in the res's. Who is going to want to sign him on big money then.

I have just finished reading Alan Sugars book. It was very interesting, Spurs has a hell of a lot to thank that guy for and the EPL even more. Players are commodities and we spent 8m on Wickham, if I was Short I would offer him a new fair contract and tell him we would be prepared to sell him in the future for the right price if he wants to go. If he does not want to sign its 12 months in the reserves with no first team football and no loans.

We must offer the young lad a greatly-improved long-term contract! If Gus wants him,we must sign him up!!

If he won't sign, no ****ing about, sell him ASAP.

I'd love him to stay and develop, if he does a 3 year deal, and has 2 good years, he could get a mega move, but we can't get arse ****ed by him walking next year.

The club needs to get a grip of the contract situation, too many players every year are close to walking, and that is a ****ing farce.
