There's been stiff competition, but the "ugliest duckling of the year" award has to go to Caterham for making me feel physically sick.
I think it's a really interesting design and a novel approach to the solution, even if it does look like they have just sliced off the front of last years chassis and stuck a pole on the end to attach the wing too.
That is horrendous, but all publicity us good publicity so you never know - it might pay off god them?
Why??? seriously.... why? That must have drawn up on the back of a ***-packet down the pub. "Just chop it off theer lad, glue a shlong on it, an't job's a gud 'n"
Unfortunately the more of the Caterham I see the worse it looks. The front nose looks so bad and the air intake on the hoop, just a perfect circle!! It almost looks like they have given the apprentice a few hours to draw (not design!) a complete car. I am sure the engineers have worked very very (not joking at all) hard but I guess they don't have the budget to have big computational power and cfd gear. Lets face it even Caterham can pay clever (maybe not experienced) designers and engineers. But if they don't have the equipment or budget to test their hands are tied. I can't wait for real budget caps to come in. If they can ever agree on a figure let alone how to police it. Just imagine if all the teams had the average budget that will be spent in 2014. It would be great to really see what Red Bull are capable of with a massively limited budget
