Cowie just looks miles better than Gunner at this level. More mobile , better on the ball. I wouldnt have Gunner on the bench at the moment let alone starting. I just dont see what he can offer on his season form. I can just see him conceding needless free kicks. Id leave Noone on the bench but introduce him earlier if we are losing , same with Cornelius. Really we need 2 new wide players and a left back.

Hilts - stop making sensible football comments on here although you are completely wrong about Gunnar and Cowie (just my opinion). Cowie is played in an attempt not to lose - Gunnar can win you games from nothing. I will admit that Gunnar has had a very poor spell like last season, but that's just the time to put him back on the pitch after being sidelined - he wont have liked that. Noone to start (although he wont) would be a statement of intent to the rest of the team.

Could John be starting left midfield? He gets up and down the line well and would be good going forward. I thought I saw him kicking around with the subs at half time Saturday?
