I once saw a guy feed just over a grand into a FOBT one afternoon,and in the space of 45 minutes,lost the lot... These machines are the reason Bookies on the high street open til 10pm,all day on a Sunday and every day of the year except Christmas Day. They're too much of a temptation to the week-willed,addicted gambler...
There do seem to be a lot of people who have a problem with those machines. Though they are there playing them through choice(albeit possibly with an addiction problem), rather than necessity. Which is the fundamental difference between them and Cash Converters, which I believe is a business that only trades with people who feel they have nowhere else to go.
