This is me over thinking things ha ha

Casetti is 36 isn't he? I imagine in May he will probably retire? Well, if he decides to go into coaching, firstly it would be nice I think if he became a first team coach for ourselves after May, but, in the future what are people's thoughts about Casetti going into football management? Possible future WFC manager anyone?? Played at a high level, played in England with WFC so would know what the club is about. Composed defender who reads the game well, they usually make decent managers dont they? Having Zola as our manager for X amount of years, then Casetti, not a bad image for the club to continue with. Thoughts?
 
Interesting thought, Mitch. I always saw John Eustace in that sort of role, but he's gone; so why not Marco Cassetti. If this came to pass, would he do his coaching stuff here or Italy, and how do the coaching qualifications compare?

It isn't as if the club doesn't have a track record of promoting/moving older players to back room positions, loads of examples going back to Mike Keen (the first I remember).

The other thing is would he want to go into the management side of things at some level?
 
I would imagine that if he was going to coach he would do it in Italy. After all thats his home and I believe his family are still over there.

That's a valid point, Mex. Doesn't the system in Europe work on the basis that you do the badges in one country, but if you want to work in another country later on, you do the UEFA badges instead of the badges of that country? I think there is a caveat that you can get the job in another country as long as you start the course for the UEFA badges asap after you've signed the contract.
 
Quite a funny video of Cassetti doing a mock high jump on Troy's twitter account. Have not got a clue how to link it so you will have to look it up yourselves. Also noticed he played number 3 yesterday when everyone else was in squad numbers. Wonder whether he fancies a change?
 
I think Cassetti returned this season as he felt he had unfinished business after giving away the penalty at Wembley.

He's got a wife and kids back home in Italy so imagine he will return home whatever this season brings.

The squad numbers were released recently and he hasn't moved. He is still 27. I think the list is on here somewhere, I will bump it for you.
 
Yes that one.

Saw the squad numbers bhd but everyone else wore their new number yesterday and Cassetti wore 3 which is empty. Probably we just couldn't find the 27 one in the bag!
