The thing is the dressing room ignores him, his boss has tried to recruit someone better than him, the fans [righty] abuse him. Where does he go from here? Meanwhile the players are fighting each other and all the senior pros are angling to get out of the club. I - by nature - am optimistic but this really is grim. Penfold is paralysed and our club is a total mess. Oh and I have a bet Carver is the next manager to leave... :/

Well I owe you an apology. Carver stays. Gutted for the club I love.

I am utterly, utterly astonished.

Are we saying that the press are given this fcking ludicrous snippet of sh!t, presumably from the cnt mouth of Lee Charnley, and NO further questions are asked? We just shrug and say "ah, well, if Lee says so..."

How the fck is this allowed to continue??

**** Ashley, **** Charnley and **** the players. They want fans to get behind the side after this? They aren't bothered one bit. They are effectively throwing the towel in. Why should we support this lot?

What ever happened to the SD ethos of 6 stikes and your out? Carver has now 8 and the meeting ended with Carver still No.1 choice. You couldn't make this up and I now believe Ashley is deliberately running our club into the ground and it wouldn't surprise me to see our bank accounts drained, saleable players sold, loan being taken back and Ashley puts club up for sale at a realistic price. This means once again he has got a big profit which allows hin to say " I f.cked you Geordies up big and proper now deal with the Championship".
Was Carver's brief on taking over to get us relegated, if so, he's on target for his bonus.

Bottom line seems to be is that no-one else, particularly McLaren, is prepared to put their neck on the line.

If McLaren isn't prepared to step up, assuming he's actually been asked, then if we stay up, I would go for someone else as new Head Coach. Surely ( don't call me Shirley ) now even the Dipstick Duo of Ashley and Charnley can't stick with Carver.

Would you settle for DIck Advocaat? Coughhackycough.

No thanks, looking at the number of clubs he's been to I'd say he is a mercenary. Not sure he'll keep you up either when you see your fixture list. Everton won last 6 home games, Leicester in great form and surely a crucial 6 pointer for both clubs ( They have more heart ) Chelsea away ( Jose saying he won't play weakened teams in fairness to the league and Arsenal still wanting runner up spot.
Where are your 6 points coming from?

Doesn't matter if he's a mercenary, he's same boat as Carver, given the job till the end of the season. Are you really saying you'd rather have Carver than Dick?

Was just a hypothetical question for hacky more than anyone. He was very anti-McClaren when we were linked with him after MoN was sacked. But as your situation changed, McClaren some how made his third choice(joint with Hoddle). Just wondering after his assessment of us bringing Advocaat and with his appointment leading to us picking up steady points and compared to your situation with carver, what his thoughts are on this. After all, one stop gap is doing undeniably better than the other

Personally, I wouldn't want either of them, however Carvers fixture list is a bit less scary than your lot. As I say, where are your 6 points coming from?

<doh><laugh> Fixture lists have nowt to do with the managers in charge.

Where's your 4 points coming if we need 6? Everton are beatable. Nothing to play for have they? Leicester at home is the other, very tough task but completely achievable. Us getting 6 points from those games after picking up 7 points from the last 12 available, or you picking up 4 after 0 points from the last 24 available? I wouldn't be happy with your fixture list, you've still got games left. Useless Dick has got us to thirteenth in for table just be taking us back to basics and doing the simple things correct. Your gaffer is as basic as it comes and there hasn't been a point registered for a very long time.

cant see it mentioned anywhere but carvers staying according to bbc sport. Club statement says that after a couple of days of frank discussion, players will now unite to get us out of this trouble, usual bollocks
