Why did Citroen always try to hide the top half of the back wheel like it was cool? They look like the ******s of the car world.

Agreed. This monstrosity is now a collectors classic

I like cars that look stupid but go fast. Lancia Delta S4 Group B Spec for example.

They banned group B rally in the end because it was too dangerous. Absolutely bonkers specced cars and crowds that stood centimetres away from them blasting past. Lots of bad accidents that claimed the lives of drivers and spectators.

I remember one of the drivers saying that they used to find bits of peoples fingers stuck in the bodywork of his car when people didn't get out of the way in time.

I can't imagine how much fun it would be to sledgehammer that to death.
We used to go on holiday to France. As I’ve said on here, I have absolutely no interest in cars beyond how they look. As a kid I always thought the Citroen was a **** of a car and hoped I’d never have to be seen in one.

Madness. Rather die like that than coughing my lungs up for 3 years in a nursing home.

Good job they didn't do more than about 25mph. Would have been ****ing lethal otherwise
we called em plastic coffins and they would do more than 25 trust me though 5 felt more like 95. Yep had "handlebars" - the one i went in had twist throttle on RHS of the bars & to break you pulled the whole handlebar down. What a ****ing stupid set up that was cos until you got used to it there was a tendency for your right hand to twist so causing a small burst of power leading the whole thing to bunny hop a couple of feet forwards.
looked like the bloody thing had sneezed :emoticon-0102-bigsm

My favourite memory is of the guy (Roger) whose plastic coffin i tried was a dwarf & when he turned up at my place he gets out then ,from it seemed nowhere, out crawled all 6 ft 4in tall Chris. <yikes>

weird days
now if yo're a crip you have to put with boring crap like this

I once saw 5 scalls nick one of those out of a back yard by lifting the ****ing thing over the wall. <laugh>

They had handle bars iirc, quality

We used to do that with a mate’s Bond Bug. He lived in a terraced house with a very small front garden. Walking home from the club, if it was parked outside his house, many times it would end up in his front garden as we’d hoisted over the lowish Wall.

We’d get F&C laden phone calls the next morning and would eventually go round and lift it back out over the wall for him.

First time I went to Stamford Bridge, they had these parked round the edge of the pitch.
Shows how old I am!!

I remember it well. Shows how old I am too. Terrible stadium in those days. Awful sight lines with that track around the pitch. Big horrible blue painted fences and cars parked around the edge of the pitch.

My old man used to be a sales manager at Citroen garage when I was a kid. He used to come home in various horrible cars most weeks.

He did have a Citroen bx gt once which was quite cool at the time..

Also my second car was a citroen.
