Cheers buddy ... you too ... gonna be a tricky one for you boys this evening ... hoping ours will be more straightforward, but certainly taking nothing for granted given our latest habit of gifting the opposition a lead <doh>

Yeah but you are as good as through. Your boys have got the right game in Europe. I think we won't do it. If we don't I don't want Europa....head down in the league for me over that.

Okay so the car i bought, I have discovered has a leak ?

This is the passenger footwell sitting in about 2 inches of water. The carpet and foam I have removed, that is now drying out in the shed.

This afternoons shenanigans will involve me trying to trace the leak and fix it before it starts raining again !

Yes. That's my first suspicion. Sunroof drain, I think they get bunged up with rotted leaf material.

    Brilliant mate thank you <ok>

I searched a few Volvo forums and found this info, should have gone straight to youtube. I've done exactly that procedure, but I've put a bit of sealant around the tube and the rubber grommit for good measure. The tube and the grommit were full of gunk. The sunroof doesn't open (suspect a blow fuse) so I blew up the tube to clear the other end, it gurgled a bit and then cleared so I think it was blocked up right through the drain.

I think I had a small leak coming from the AC drain pipe too as it was dripping, so I've given that a bit of sealant too. Now I've just got to try and dry the carpets out. I've taken them out, they have a an 8" foam depth which is literally sopping wet. Used a Vax to get some of the water out, but I think it's going to be a case of letting it dry out for a week or two, before I reinstall everything.

I was daft enough to buy a white car so cleaning the ****er all the time is a pain. Problem I'm having now is little rust spots.
I've read about it and it's normal on a white car and they can be removed with a clay kit but it's a lot of work.

Can't you just leave them, then eventually you'll have a red/rust coloured car. Problem solved <ok>

    Yeah thanks.

Why don't you leave the sunroof open and save money on a swimming pool?

Already done that, see the picture above.

In all seriousness though, white cars are a mare to keep clean. I'm borrowing a white skoda yeti at the moment, whilst mine is at the garage. I put it through the car wash the other day and it's filthy again already. I think it's got a galvanised body though so shouldn't rust. Good job down here with sea on all three sides !

A Black car is worse to keep clean, white can easily look shinny, black cars are a right royal game

Turned out it was the sunroof drain. I've fixed the issue and no more water thank ****. Apparently it's a common problem on XC90's. I also had a small leak from the A/C drain too, so I've put a dollop of sealant around the gap. <ok>
