for me no matter what he does I think it was pure panic. we were bottom of the tbale and looking at suarez being unfit after 7 matches out. torres drops us in it and we HAD to get something. I think we had nobody else as all others were refused (llorente rumoured) he was also unfit so it was totally crazy. had we pocketed the 35mil until the summer and risked suarez working out. well.... i'd not have minded frankly as kuyt was there. Honestly i think it was a ridiculous fee that made me angry at the time, not least of which got worse as he was clearly so unfit.
