I agree. I really can't see what all the Carroll lovers above see in him. They obviously don't attend all the games. I want him to do well, of course I do. But he hasn't. It's pointless saying that he'll be a good player in the future, he won't be with us. And he was that if not worse tonight Big Chaz. No room on this bus for passengers.. and we had far too many of them on board tonight. We need frontline soldiers in our ranks not army cadets or the T.A.
The attitude towards Carroll is typical British "up and at 'em" tripe. He's small and not big and powerful. As Norway said on the match thread, he was our best midfielder in the 2nd half and then clueless Harry hooked him off and put on Jenas (who I also quite like) when we needed a goal!! Carroll retained possession really well in the 2nd half whilst Barton ran around like a headless chicken, fighting everyone and regularly giving the ball away.
I think he will be a good player but based purely on what little i've seen this season, he struggles with the physical side of the game he seems to be trying and has the ability, im just not sure this is the best development for him? He's had a couple of OK games IMO but im not sure he is what we need right now?
