Words "Legend", "Great" are used too easily these days, however in the case of Carra they are fully deserved! Shame he'll retire without a League winners medal
Carra's dulcet tones and exquisite use of the English language could end up on Sky Sports every week if he doesn't take up a coaching role after retiring, i'm sure rat boy will be pleased. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ts--Charles-Sale-exclusive.html#axzz2KEuMZ5rC
Not a surprise really. Just hope he is kept in some form or another as a coach! Absolute legend! 2005-08 he was absolutely awesome.
Who's the biggest Liverpool legend, Gerrard or Carragher? I'm not talking about football ability but which one of them most represents Liverpool FC?
Gerrard's done more to drag us over the line etc (ie important goals) but Carragher's put more heart an blood into it (puts his body on the line). Ultimately, their positions will be the difference. Defenders are not fashionable are they.
What happens if his son makes it as a professional but turns out to be a Joe Cole, Stewart Downing or, god forbid, a Paul Koncheskey!!
It was just a temporary squad number for Fowler, he took the number nine as soon as Rushie gave it up.
Probably impossible to quantify other than as a personal choice. That's all about what you think a legend represents. In terms of ability as a footballer then Gerrard is miles ahead. In terms of heart and character then for me it's Carra. Both will be remembered as legends however I reckon Gerrard would get into a lot of Liverpool fans all time Liverpool XI and in all honesty I don't think Carra would. On the flip side if you asked if Carra would be in Liverpools most committed XI ever then 99.9% would say yes.
I've already addressed that on the thread you put on your board. His ultimate goal with be management and I believe managing us is very possible. He may well do the odd spot as he develops hid coaching career.
Rodgers called him "irreplaceable." That doesn't really tally with his not playing him, though. Don't piss on my shoes and tell me it's raining,. Brendan Carra isn't a ball player and we all know that's why he wan't playing, but as the Big Plan has been tempered to the reality of Rodgers' abilities, so Carra has found his way back into the team. Good time to retire, then.
