This ^ really good book but hopefully adds to it to talk more about H&G, return of Kenny, FSG, and his retirement.
Carragher always said he didn't want to be a bit part player and that he would consider playing for someone else rather than sit on the bench collecting his pay. I guess the decision came at a time when he didn't have the option of joining another club with dropping a level or two I can see that but I can also see a defense first attitude too. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he will become a a manager so I guess time will tell.
Sad but I think it is the right time for him to retire and take up some kind of coaching role with us. King of the last ditch tackle and last ditch block. his partnership with hyypia was as good as any the club has had in my opinion. Wish skrtel and agger were half as committed and willing to put their bodies on the line.
It's a brilliant read (as footballers autobiog's go). Anfield will certainly be a quieter place if he's not around.
Truly gutted Carra is retiring, really thought he had at least one year in him,and still wouldnt rule that out if he plays well between now and the end of the season and he reasseses the situation, I hope this isnt FSG not wanting to give him a new 12 month deal due to age, Jamie is bright enough to know he could only expect £30k a week at his age and he would accept if he wanted to play on, What is true is that Im not ashamed to say that Im a little bit emotiontional a LFC legend is deciding to call it a day. It's a shame!!
I was still in nappies when he played his debut, now he is retiring just as RHC is going back into nappies.
