I would imagine that the last couple of games have just wiped a couple of thousand from Saturdays attendance, surely ME must act now….

Feel so sorry for all those fans who have travelled up & down the country over the last four days...!

Wait for the same old garbage from jewell, blames everyone else but himself...!

I’d like to think you were right, but I think they’ll give him until Christmas like Keano - plus they’re waiting on five signings, if today’s rumours about the Posh pair are correct (+ N’Daw, Kourouma, Murphy again).

If they leave him in charge until these are sorted out and the transfer window closes, ME/CLeggy will just invoke the Christmas thing. “It’s fair to give him half a season” and all that bollocks.

Another wasted season. If a new man is coming, he might as well get as much of the season as possible, transfer window or otherwise, but it won’t happen. Unless he walks, but he won't.

    Agreed, he's ****ed it now

Hutchings et al can **** off as well while they're at it. If ME doesn't act then I think he'll soon get the message. PJ, Clegg etc are all his appointments. We all appreciate that he saved us but is ME making things worse with his lack of anyone with a football background at the club. We don't know what we're doing!

We are an utter disgrace <wah> oh yes a big bag of ****...

This is definately the lowest point in our illustrious history. No disrespect to Carlisle but we should have won comfortably tonight with what is our full strength side. There are no excuses that Jewell can offer tonight and if that's the best we have got then we are in deep trouble! The Jewell "give him time" merchants must surely be squirming tonight. The mild mannered Brenner Wooley was even getting angry by the end of his commentory. Unless ME acts now we will be relegated with this side no doubts whatsoever.

I don't think we'll be relegated we can definately scrape fourth from bottom <ok>

I'm so ****ing sick of what has happened to our club. At least with relegation something happens, we're the Championship groundhog day club that ****ing minces about the division for the rest of eternity. Too **** to go up and save ourselves from relegation by putting a decent run together. Suddenly we think our patience was worth then then boom! We're back to our jizzy **** bag selves.

PJ should be investigated by trading standards for masquerading as a football manager instead of a ****ing circus clown!

Just read the TWTD report. The way I see it the lesson of tonight is not to sit back, ever. Though after Saturday just wanting to hold on the win is half understandable, and that goal must have shattered there confidence going into extra time.

Its not so much giving Jewell time that I'd argue, its giving the squad time, yes they are professionals but as has been stated they are very inexperienced and do play some good attacking football given time and support they have the potential to become a very good squad. What i fear is that a new manager would break up this Squad and we'd be back to square one. With that in mind I'm of the opinion that if ME doesn't believe Jewell is worth a new contract then he should make his decision ASAP so he has to work with the current squad and not just bring in his own. The other option ME could take is breaking up the Hutchings Jewell partnership. Instead having a planned replacement in the assistant manager position (what Wilnis doing these days?). Making the transition to a new manager a lot smoother an with any luck ensuring

But saying all that we can point to Chopra being wasteful if he put some of his chance away (an im aware he wasnt the only culprit) our confience woud have grown and Carlisles belief would have been more likley to ebb away. Above all the late goal wouldn't have been significant. I'm annoyed that Murray wasn't given the opportunity to play tonight, it was painfully obvious just through the BBC text we were in need of another goal and Chopra was unable to find a way past Collin.

In more up beat news it looks like we may be getting some more needed reinforcements in. While in principle Id be against mass changes for Saturday, this 11 may be in need of a break to regroup a little and competition is always good.

Hoppers i totally agree, the 3 players mentioned are Boyd, Taylor and Murphy, none of which are even defensive midfielders let alone defenders!!

Still not sure about Chambers and Loach but guess we should give them a little time.

Mike, i know what your saying but what if Evans decided to bite the bullet, sack Jewell, bring in his mate Harry and back him, do you think that would be a mistake? Not saying that Harry would come but if he wanted to i'm sure Evans could afford him!!

As I mentioned in the start of my post and a post on a different thread a real part of the problem is the lack of clinicalness up front. I admit over the summer i thought attack wasnt a priority but its starting to show that it is

All reports that ive seen have said that we looked more dominant for the majority of the match, the problems came when we sat back. It is the attacks job to take full advantage of the domination and there not doing that at the moment. Boyd and Taylor and Murphy would give us more options to be able to do this.

    Lets put it this way

thats the last mention on TWTD of an Ipswich attack. The point being our attack was firstly unable to keep a League 1 side under pressure for the whole 90 an secondly only able to score one goal in that 80 minutes

where as for 89 minutes our defence didnt leak one goal including that 9 minutes at the end of Carlisle turning the Screw. Bear in mind they had to deal with what was by the end of the 90 more shots overall and on target

So, i accept we have defensive frailties but considering what i just said who's more to blame for tonight's defeat. A defense where the majority is young inexperienced players or an attack that are expected to take apart championships defenses.

TL;DR: no one would be complaining to much if we were 3-0 up then conceded that last minute goal

Ill never dispute that Harry can get results and would support him.

    But
I've seen arguments that Jewell stumbled upon Drury and Hyam in January last year, which there is plenty of evidence for but is debatable
HK Admitted he was ready to get rid of Bale and he was repeatedly in and out of the the team before finally breaking through

PJ Fell out with Martin, Martin came back a better player
HK showed fantastic man management skills with Bent, Bent left.

Point is Harry isn't perfect no manager is and there is no guarantee that he would fit.

EDIT: Also, Would you rather ME appoint a big name mate if PJ was sacked or an enthusiastic young manager in the mold of Di Canio, Di Matteo, Gus Poyet, or better yet someone with a real affiliation with the club e.g De Vos, Scowcroft ( i know there not managers or have taken coaching badges (?) but you get my drift)

I would prefer Jewell to prove us all wrong and we go on a winning run and get us near the top of the table, problem is, i don't have much confidence in him at the moment.
Mike we have all been calling for a new striker and left midfielder, so we know we have frailties up front as well as in defence but Jewell seems to be ignoring the defensive problems and just looking for attacking players. personally, i think we should be looking at a left back and pushing Cressy forward but obviously now Boyd looks like he may sign that ain't gonna happen.
I'm still not convinced by Chambers/Smith/Edwards/Loach and DELONKEY should never be allowed near the first team again.

I see Edwards is injured, Hewitt isn't ready yet so who is going to play right back? Ainsley will probably get the call and then we will be in doggy doo.
WE NEED DEFENDERS IN AND NOW!!

Just wait until the fans realise that George Boyd is being signed as a replacement for Lee Martin because we can't afford his wages!

Looking for some positives from last night. What was Luongo's goal like? He looked really good when I saw him play at PR, if a little goal-shy.

Pleasing to see him pick up a goal.

Luongo's goal was a 20 yard pile driver after some nifty footwork from JET. First half we were great. Second half we started well but wasted so many chances and didn't kill it off and presumably because it's a cup game Carlisle had an extra gear to find and after they equalised we were swamped.

I will really have to think twice about whether I want to waste my money on another trip anytime soon to fund these idiots.

I would never sit in the home end at Elland Road but the Etihad is only an hour from here....

I must say that it was a mighty fine effort of those 390 town fans who made it up to carlisle last night. for a tuesday night the other side of the country against a team in the league below us, well done boys!

the lack of defenders being linked is really starting to get to me. inevitably we will probably now panic buy an injury prone, over 30 centre back because we messed up on all of the other targets. ivar ingimarsson and ibrahim sonko anyone?

Why go after more midfielders when its the defence that needs strengthening! <doh> Right back is a desperate situation and now that Carlos is injured all we have is Ainsley! For a club of our size this is shocking incompetence!
