Charlton Athletic make their longest trip of the season this weekend when they travel up north to take on a Carlisle side still chasing a playoff place. Whilst charlton won both their games over easter beating Oldham and Walsall both 1-0, Carlisle could only manage two draws, drawing 0-0 with S****horpe and 1-1 with Wycombe.

We have already played Carlisle twice this season once in the league and once in the fa cup. We have won both times and scored 6 goals compared to Carlisle scoring 0. The 4-0 in the league was the game after our first loss of the season and showed us just how well our team can bounce back following a defeat. On that day the goalscorers were Wright-phillips, Hollands and Kermogant the latter bagging a brace. Ben Hamer also saved a penalty in the second half when we were already 4-0 up. It is also worth noting that Carlisle had to play 45 minutes with 10 men after Robson was sent off.

Carlisle are enjoying a good season so far and are still in the hunt for a playoff place. They currently sit 7th in the league on 66 points level with Notts County who occupy the last play off place but they have an inferior goal difference. That being said they have a game in hand so have an opportunity to make that playoff place their own. They are unbeaten in their last nine games of which include wins away to Mk dons and at home to Huddersfield.

My team to play against Carlisle-

Hamer

Solly Morrison Cort Wiggins

N'Guessan Stephens Pritchard Jackson

Wright-Phillips Kermogant

Subs
Sullivan
Taylor
Hughes
Green
Hayes

Much like the two Sheffield games back in January I would be happy with a point, however I get the feeling that any body making the travel up to Carlisle could once again be instore for a masterclass away performance for our boys. That is why I am going to go with another 1-0 win for us and who knows if Sheffield Wednesday lose we could be promoted come 5 o'clock tomorrow!

Belv. Wagstaff's ban was only one game so should be available for Carlisle <ok> so I can see Waggy starting (for his work rate) and N'Guessan on bench instead of Hayes. Not that I think that's fair on Hayes :(

Nice one, Belv. And I think you've got the team right, CP won't change a winning team unless he has to. Probably applies to subs as well mind you.

NiCE ONE bELV. i HAVE A FEELING IN MY WATER THAT WE WILL WIN THIS AND THAT cOLU will get a draw with Massive. Sorry for shouting. Hit Caps Lock by mistake.

Kermorgant needs a break. Still three games to go after this one. No sense in wrecking him. And I think Jackson has come back too soon. I would also like to see Hughes in for Stephens. Not enough tackle power in the middle at present.

My team:
The usual back 5
Wagstaff, Hughes, Pritchard, N'Guessan
BWP, Hayes

Sullivan, Taylor, Cook, Haynes, Stephens

Belv
I am certain that kermit has got 10 goals so far this season since we now have 3goalscorers in double figures. I reckon kermit will start and that Hughes has a chance in midfield for this one. Who plays with him Stephens or Pritchard is the big question for me. I think Stephens is probably the best bet.

Agree with exception to Hughes. Pritchard and Hughes will be a constant battle- one of them with Stephens for me!

Nice one, Belvedere.

Heart says 1-0, Head says 1-1

It's a measure of the caution and pessimism instilled in me over the years of supporting this wonderful club that I can even contemplate not beating a side we're 25 points in front of...

Come On You Reds!!

Nervous this morning. Not a normal nervousness. More a "we could be promoted today" sort of nervousness. I'll be on the golf course. It works for Sir Alex! COYR

I predict a win every week and see nothing different today..its a long trip BUT if that made a difference carlisle would be bottom as they make a long trip every week.
2 0 and Kermo and Jackson with the goals, cant see wednesday dropping points today so champers on ice for another week.

This is a brand new feeling for me. I was probably too young for 98 and 2000 (although I vividly remember listening to the 98 shootout on Capital Gold possibly with Jonathan Pearce)

In a way I hope Wednesday win because I selfishly want to be there when it is confirmed!

Afternoon All...

Charlton: Hamer; Solly, Wiggins, Cort, Morrison; N’Guessan, Pritchard, Stephens, Jackson; Wright-Phillips, Kermorgant
Subs: Sullivan, Taylor, Hughes, Wagstaff, Haynes

Prediction: 2-1 to the Addicks! Wednesday to draw 1-1 to seal us promotion! COYR
