I think we will go for the FA Cup just like we went for the Carling Cup. No doubt we wanted to win it, but got it wrong last night and were unlucky with a few things really

Drenthe was sent off for everton last night, two yellows so a 1 game ban, will he be serving that for the man u game on Saturday or against us? I recall a rule saying something like suspensions were next game as long as it was five days or so after the offence.

Think he misses the Man Utd game like. Hopefully they will get a few injuries/suspensions for when they play us lol

Our exit and the manner thereof raises questions though:
Why were we always on the back foot and chasing the lead?
Why did we not take the pressure off by fielding a few more changes? Pardew was raving about our squad strength after Forest.
And most importantly, especially in the context of Stevenage last year, why do we struggle so much when it's all down to one game? And what does that suggest about our ability to handle pressure?

I'm gutted to be out, I think most NUFC fans had one eye on the quarter-finals already given our start to the season. But the questions raised do bear answering.

I think there were too many changes to the side. The regular 11 are confident in what others can do. But Colo for instance had two new players either side added to simpsons known shortcomings. Cabaye had a more attacking partner in Guthrie, added to marv and ben arfa holding onto the ball more in an effort to show theyre worth a first team start, this in turn left ba isolated. The standard of the referring was poor and some pivotal things didn't go our way. Whilst it sucks to go out to a struggling blackburn team perhaps in the long term it's better to. In a sense of our short comings and weaknesses are highlighted rather than brushed under the rug had we been beaten by chelsea or man city in the next round. If we continue to play well until January there will be less emphasis on bringing in squad members which we desperately need. In the eyes of a club owner results have shown any team can safely expect to be battered by the manchesters or chelsea and pass it off as a bad day at the office. I was hugely impressed by 2 goals in injury time. That wouldn't have happened last season. A Big deal is being made of our goals conceded in the league cup versus the league. 8 in 3! Added together we've played the equivalent of 4 games and have scored 9 goals, most of them late on when in seasons gone our heads would have dropped by half time.

In hindsight, we should probably have kept the same team as we have been playing in the Premier League. Obviously Tiote and Taylor were injured though so Guthrie and Perch would have had to play anyway :S

One less distraction from our title challenge.

Think we'll have a good go at the FA Cup like.
