Kinda feel sorry for him he did not set the fee CAFC did and Vengar though he could play in the premier can't blame the poor lad and I still feel he played better than some of the other Arsenal players
Bumping my own thread, I see Sagna is out for 3 months, so Jenkinson could get a long run in the first team. Yesterday showed the difference between Arsenal and Spurs, Spurs buy Parker, who bossed central midfield in the way we know he can do, while Arsenal were lightweight there, and needed him far more. Spurs bought a young, promising defender (Kyle Walker) and loaned him back to Sheff Utd and to to other clubs to build up his experience, and now have a decent player on their hands. Arsenal buy Jenkinson as their second choice right back...
I always thought Parker (if he was going to go) should have gone to Arsenal rather than Chelsea. His passing, tackling game was ideally suited to them even in 2004. Wenger for some reason didn't and still doesn't see it. Sven Goran Eriksson should have used him for the Euros in 2004 or the World Cup unqualifying 2006. He didn't see it. Capello should have taken him to South Africa in 2010 but didn't even give him a game in the warm ups. He's had some kind of road to Damascus since. But there's something essentially too English about Parker, and it seems only English managers can see it, except of course Steve McClaren, but he fails on the 'manager' bit. I feel for Jenkinson. I hope this experience doesn't damage him permanently. He needed a much more gradual introduction like Walcott got.
