Glen millers plane disappeared over the Channel in bad weather 74 years ago - still hadn't been found
When you have travelled as much as I have in my working life, then the 2 incidents are minute compared to the number of flights I have taken and the hotels I've stayed in.
Doesn't surprise me at all TBH. It's very easy to 'lose' things at sea - especially at night and if there's any sort of wave action. A purely visual (or even using thermal imaging) search over such a large body of water won't have a great probability of detection. Scouring the seabed with sonar isn't going to be easy. Imagine how many wrecks/objects there are in the English Channel? Awful for those left behind.
The plane was 35years old and the pilot a part time guy. Why with all the cash in football would you hire someone like that. Also the flight was from Cardiff to Nantes in France and then return, why hire a part time guy with a very old plane based in Scunthorpe.
Like fans of those clubs would be respectful... Outside of Munich, Man Utd fans couldn't give a ****. And Arsenal fans are the biggest ****s going.
Nice touch. Watched a very emotional interview with Warnock. Who was clearly distraught at the loss of Sala. Not a big fan of Warnock, but it must be desperately hard as he’d built up a rapport with the player and his family.
A load of Cardiff fans went to Nantes' game last night and took the banner... please log in to view this image The Nantes players all played with Sala's name on their shirts, they stopped in the 9th minute for a moment of applause, and there was a lot of outpouring of emotion.
Bono arriving by private jet to tell us we all should give up our cars and cycle and use public transport to save the planet.
Not only him, I read that there was 1500 private planes at Davos and some were using a helicopter to get from the airport to the hotels.
Yes. But they aren't all as hypocritical as Bono. He arrived and announced capitalism is amoral. This is the man worth over £200 million who tells us we should call be happy to pay more taxes to fund his pet projects, but when Ireland, which previously had a low tax rate for 'artists' and didn't tax royalties on song writing decided to tax royalties promptly transferred them to the Dutch Antilles where they are untaxed.
Interesting read. Along one but worth ploughing through to see what a cesspit the game we all love has become. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...ala-pawn-sordid-transfer-shames-football.html
