Second in the league after winning today and feck me they had Gregg Halford, Liam Feeney, Sol Bamba and Junior Hoillet in their lineup.

Quality means feck all in this league its all about graft, determination and having some balls.
Our squad is as strong as anyones in my opinion.

the championship has always been like that though hasnt it? i would argue that the prem is to a certain extent too. Teams that pull together and work hard are always dangerous. you can be as talented as you like but if you dont pull your finger out of your arse you can get beaten.

Classic example is Wigan v Man City.

i dont think our squad is disastrous, could be improved massively yes, but we need time where we can have a settled 11, the same formation, where the players know exactly what to expect from each other. Sadly they are all luxuries we dont have.

Yes i agree. Burnley are a fine example. 442 every game with limited talent but a massive work ethic.

It's why teams go on good and bad runs really. When things click you go into games expecting to do well and the players grafting for each other, when things are tough many players go through the motions but effectively hide. It's why those Roy Keane/ Patrick Viera characters are essential as they can drag a team out of a malaise.

Are West Brom the worst squad in the Premiership? I'd say no.

There's fight in the team and has been for most of the season but we're going to go down simply because we're smaller and weaker than every other side. Quality wise we're upper mid table but these short arses who haven't lifted a single dumbbell their whole career have been our downfall.

It's the mix that has been, in hindsight, all wrong. Older players, like Jones, JoS, Ruiter and Catts, have not provided any framework to build on. A good game once in a blue moon is not enough. Injuries have also hit us hard - Gibson, Williams, Wilson, Mathews, Oviedo, Kone, McNair, Maja and of course Duncan Watmore have all been missed. Even so it's still possible that we will click and avoid the drop. Lets hope so, cos signs are there, but it's getting late <ok>

Don't forget the quality manager who I wanted us to go for and who wanted to come.<laugh><ok>where are you all hiding now ya buggers.

Junior Hoillett is one of the best players in the league. Bamba one of the best defenders. The other 2 barely feature but have done ok when called upon.

That is exactly the point that I'm getting at. Both players are average at best and no better than what we have.
