I don't think that's true about Sharp. Generally, it doesn't feel as though we play to his strengths. I'm not even sure what Ohio's strengths are, and he's looked like a fish out of water thus far. Hopefully he'll gel with the team and kick on when he gets his next opportunity. Tbf to him I'm not convinced that any of our fit strikers are suited to the way we've been playing, as none of them play like Delap.
It's a big ask for a young inexperienced striker to play up top, on his own, with little assistance, as all our other players are usually in a different post code. Sharp doesn't fare much better. We took off Ohio against Swansea, then brought on Connolly, then Sharp. I would have liked to see Ohio with one of Connolly or Sharp to help him out. Ohio at least offers some aerial threat, compared with the remainder of our vertically challenged crew, but hey, what do I know?
Whereas you went to the right* when typing 'the'. * Door ajar for 'some'. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Other than Pandur, this is what I’m expecting too. Don’t think we’ll see Pandur until next season, with him coming in as number 1 from the start.
Could be a decisive day today. By 5pm, we could either be right back and it be back in our hands or barring the shouting, virtually over.
I think the criticism of Ohio is over the top, I think he's done OK when he's had a chance, without looking anything like a worldbeater. If you're comparing him unfavourably to Sharp, you're way off the mark. I spent a few minutes getting some relevant stats from the FBRef website, can't be arsed to type out all the abbreviations but if anything not clear people can check on the website what something means. Ohio comes out ahead in nearly all the stats relevant to strikers. (All stats shown on per 90 basis).
Big day for Matty Jacob at left back, 50K Slater at right back. No place for Christie, only on the bench, Rosy would rather play a midfielder at right back than a specialist right back.
He clearly likes Slater.. It would be interesting to see how many different positions Slater has played this season. Right back, left back, def mid, att mid, left wing, right wing?
