My business fails and I go bankrupt but there was still 50k owed to the bank. That 50k now gets rubbed off as I have declared myself bankrupt. 10 years down the line I try all over again. My business is a huge success and I make a lot of money. Do I then go back to that original bank and say 'oh you know what, I borrowed 50k off you 10 years ago but I went bankrupt. If I had a business and went bankrupt owing lots of local firms money then years later came into millions yep id settle what I owed.
