well, i hope phil learns his lesson..... as for the strength of the PL, come on, we've done this to death monty. both teams going for it were shown up as being not very good by champions league standards. for all the hoo ha about them winning the europa neither of them went very far in that either, despite playing almost full strength sides. 1 team in the quarters of both champions and europa league doesnt exactly speak volumes for the strength of the PL. some quotes from the former wales assistant manager raymond verheijen about the topic. and they could yet win the title
Yeah it's a terrible league. You guys did the right thing by throwing the play-offs. Better make sure you let in a few tonight so you don't suffer the misfortune of becoming a prem league 'hanger on' next year.
"former wales assistant manager raymond verheijen..." lol Didn't Chelsea beat the worlds best ever team not so long back enroute to the Champions League final. I'm sure they did.
Prem team hanger on playing in front of 19000 (at least 5000 plastic) or a jammed 24000 at home with fanatic support ,,,,,,,,,,,,its a hard choice but then again ?
How many of the 24 000 true fans were left at the end of the West Ham game? Is that what it's come down to for you guys, arguing about attendances. Well I guess you wish you were like Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds with their massive stadiums.
Always a sign of somebody who can't argue against a point. Just make something up. Who said we don't want to make the PL? Good luck to you for getting there? Still, it is a 2 team league, with 6 good clubs after that, and some hangers on. You don't have to then make up some rubbish about how we don't want to get there. And yes you are hangers on. You may finish about 6-7 points from relegation.
I'm just highlighting the lunacy of discrediting something that you yourself are so desperate to achieve just beacuse your rivals have.
Ever tried getting transport home after leaving a large home attendance monty? i asume your a jack so the answer must be no then ;O). Leeds and sheffield do have big stadiums but look at leads attendances in the last 10 matches ,i admit more than your home numbers but then again pretty poor for a so cal;led big club.... as for sheffield its a big area and promotion tipped the scales for them as last season their average was pretty poor like yours to be honest .
Our average attendance 20K, yours 22K, Wow. That must make you feel so good. If it was all about attendances then Cardiff will NEVER make it to the Prem.
No, we don't want to get there because you are there...do you really think that?? Whew..I think we want to get there whether your there or not. You see we don't actually obsess about Swansea as much as you guys worry about what we think of you. Just look at both forums. It does tell a story We want to get there because it is the highest league in the competition we play in. That does not mean we have to make out that the league is something it is not. Why does saying that the PL is a 2 team league, with 6 good teams, and then hangers on mean that Swansea did not have a good season in that league. If you try to describe the league as 20 great teams battling for the title....well!
You've misunderstood. Should have read. "I'm just highlighting the lunacy of discrediting something, that you yourself are so desperate to achieve, just beacuse your rivals have achieved it." It means that on one hand you want to diminish the swans achievments by discrediting the Prem league, but on the other hand you are desperate to get to the premier league yourleves because you realise how amazing it is.
This is the game where a true leader comes to the fore. Who will be brave enough? I'm afraid I gave up on Kenny a while back. It would be the perfect opportunity to prove me wrong. Just hope McPhail and Kiss start.
No. You missed the point. We wan't to get to the top of the competition we play in. The fact that the PL is one of the biggest in the world is a bonus. Even if it was the 15th best league in the world we would still want to be in it....understand that?? You suggest we want to diminish the Swans achievement because we talk about how the PL has been a 2 team race this year. Fine, yes, it is all about you. Surely you can agree that it will be a sign of a true competition when the gap between first and 10th is a half of what it is now! It is 37 points right now!!!!! Unfortunately the FFP rules will mean the lower income generating clubs will be effectively ****ed and the gap will get wider.
monty, most hyped and promoted, with obscene amounts of money sloshing around, does not equate to the league being the best technically and the teams being the best in the world.
Both forums do tell a story yes, it tells us that you lot have totally run out of things to say to us I mean your banging on about attendances and the strength of the league ffs! awful awful arguments. Now trying to tell us that we didn't have a good season after all? Truly deluded. Ahh well, let's go watch you lose shall we?
